well, its always been kind of obvious to me that there's a God, because if there isnt, then how come were here? yea, you can say some random particles happened to collide in just the right way and kaboom!, humans are created, but if theres no God, how did the particles come to be? im not trying to preach, im just saying that it logically makes sense. noisemail me- id like to hear what you have to say about God, other related topics and let me know what you think about this whole issue... but ill say this: i have always and will always believe in God.

I believe God (in my case, Goddess) is the feeling you get when you think of Him. If praying gives you hope, then God is Hope. If thinking of God makes you feel like someone- even if only Him (Her)- loves you, then God is Love. God fills any void in your life; He can be a father figure, your safety net, your teacher, your best friend. All at once.

Do you actually think that someone who decides to end his/her life deserves to go to hell and suffer for all eternity? Im a catholic and i believe in God. I also know that when someone decides to commit suicide is because that person is terribly depressed, cant stand his life, cant handle problems, and has no hope, its not because they are tired of "living" its because they cant take more pain. I really dont think that if someone suffers so much and is so depressed that decides to kill himself will die and then God will say hey you commited suicide, now go to hell for more suffering. What kind of God is that? I believe in a God full of love, and kindness, and filled with understanding, copassion and that is mercyful.

the same thing with atheists going to hell. I dont find sense in that. God created us, he know everything going on in our minds, and actually understands and knows us. God gave us the faculty of wandering and questioning. Do you think that God will make someone who has decided to not believe in him go to hell?? if that person is good, if that person leads a helping life. I dont think so.

I believe in God.I just believe pretty much what all Catholics believe and what the Bible teaches. My father's side is Catholic,my mother's side is Budist. When i was little,i guess i was buddist but it's kinda hard to really know what a little kid believes. They don't really choose what they believe. They believe what their parents and other ppl tell them to believe. When i moved to the US and lived w/my father's family, i became Catholic. I was baptised when i was about 10. I went to classes and later i went to my Godparents house for lessons w/my Godmother. I don't just believe in God cause that's what I've been taught. I really beleive in Him.It's really satisfying for me to know that after I die that'll go to heaven. It gives me a goal in life. I know what's wrong and right and I know what God expects. so I do what I should,cause I beleive it's better to suffer a misserable life and have a happy eternity in heaven than to do horrible stuff on Earth or commit suicide cause ur tired of living, and have a terrible eternity. wink

Of course I believe in God!! There have been many instances in my life where I could have been permanantly injured or even killed. I don't see it as just pure luck. Now there's no way to guarantee that God exists and it's hard to explain how I, we (christians, catholics, etc.) believe in God when other people are saying well that could just be a higher being, not just nessicarily God. But what my parents have taught me, seems plausible (s/p?) so, therefore, that's what I will always believe in.

Personally, as a Catholic I do believe in God. I believe their is someone or something that is greater than us. But there really is no way to prove that....that is why you have to believe. smile

K, we could all sit around here for hours arguing over whether or not there is a God. Once we got past that, then we'd argue about what God stands for and what he's like, etc. etc. etc. The thing is, religion and God is based on beliefs. If someone doesn't believe in God or they believe in a different God, fine, thats their opinion. Everyone is entitled to one (or should be). Personally, I am roman catholic and I am a firm believer in God but I also respect other people's religions and their views about higher powers. I'm not hear to preach about Him, or try to convince y'all he's really there....just keep an open mind, that's all I ask.

hey you two, the other post asks for opinions from athiests and those who beleive in god. I'm neither so...

when I hear the word god something shakes inside of me. I'm not sure if it's something I know but do not realize or if it is because of the life I have lead with so much pain all because of this single, one sylable, three letter word.

people spend too much time trying to find what is different amoungst them. we have so much in common and it is a personal beleif of mine that what is right, or true for one person isn't always right or true for everyone else.

everyone gets crap about their religion, if you haven't you are as lucky as the ten year old who has never scraped his knee.

or are you, after all falling teaches valuable lessons as does being questioned and sometimes being wrong.

my plea is this stay open minded and remember that whatever you may title me, white, female, middle class, agnostic, liberal, blonde, crazy that we are both human and both of this earth.

has ne1 seen the movie contact. when the main character finally meets the aliens what is the one thing the alien stresses to tell her, (adlibing here:) that in all their searching the universe for other life that the most comfort they have found is in each other. it is a great movie I urge you all to see it or at least the last half just to get the mesage behind it.

~~~It is we who cause the pain and we who must heal it.
