quote: I think that that is really rude of you to blow off other people's religions by saying that what they believe in never happened
I think it's rude for you to believe in God because it disables people to think for themselves. Poof. Be gone.
quote: I'm a Christian, and I try to be tolerant of other people's religions while staying strong in my own
I respect everyone's decision to follow a religion and believe whatever they wish. I do NOT, however, have to share the same opinions as those individuals.
quote: I don't tell everyone else that they are wrong.
Your point? We're two completely different individuals.
quote: I think that you, Gemini, could take some lessons from some of the people on these boards who disagree with other people's religions but don't try to bring them down
Or I could stop thinking for myself and become just like you all. I'm sure that'd be an amusing five minutes of hell.
quote: I believe very strongly in my God, and it offended me when you just said, it never happened
So I'm being rude because I'm sharing my opinion? You can do it, yet I cannot? Hypocrite.
quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's just so ...incredible to even think about God Himself creating everything! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's so incredible because it never happened.

quote: Either the religion is wrong, or it is right.
Or no religions are right because they're just compositories of what might be true and/or what is false.
quote: It's just so ...incredible to even think about God Himself creating everything!
It's so incredible because it never happened.
quote: So if all the religions are "right," then we have no reason to be living right now -- why live if all the religions are right? Seriously, think about it...
You're basically asking why any Atheists/Agnostics even bother living. Well, let's THINK for once, Joey. People don't -need- religion to have a reason for living. That's completely ridiculous. All religions are wrong, but I guess you'll figure that out when you die and go to hell, or nothing happens to you. When you die, you're dead. Why do people have to yearn for a Heaven? I think religious zealots are afraid that when they die, nothing is going to happen to them, and the only thing keeping them alive will be the memory of them.
quote: If 30 gods lived in Paradise, why would they create a universe and an earth to put people on it? Why not just skip it all and have everyone live in harmony up in Paradise?
If your god lived in Heaven, why would he create a universe and an earth to put people on? Why not just skip it all and have everyone live in harmony in Heaven?
quote: Hell is going to be one inclusive place
Preach it, brotha'!
quote: Yes, but why do you think that?
Because there are no historic accounts than can support it. No photographs, first-hand reports that can be verified, etc. THAT's why, Pie.
I was saying that I believe god is a sort of force that keeps the world running. I think everyone sees god differently and gives god a different name. And I think it would add up to more than 30.
So shmeow, did all the gods just have a summit one day, sit around a nice office desk in the sky, and create the world piece-by-piece?
Either the religion is wrong, or it is right.

I don't believe in the christian god because I don't believe in any god. The christian bible is just another book of mythology... I'm guessing that in 2000 years it will be regarded the same as people regard Greek mythology now.
Let me clear that up, I think there is something that is making the universe run, but I don't think it has one form. I think God has many names. I do not think any are right or wrong, they are all just names for that force that makes the world run.
