The M1 Garand has to be one of my favorite rifles.
I like these calm little moments before the storm.

The K98 is a great sniper rifle, but ya can't beat the Garand for a solid all around infantry rifle.

My knowledge of the Germnan war machine points to the SS as the elite of the German army, the Panzers, the Africa Korps of which was defeated by the glorious desert rats, my grandad also faced the SS panzerkorps in Holland, and we lost 10,000 troops in that operation (british, not sure of american casualty). This being back when soldiers lives were expendable, now the loss of a soldier here is greeted with deep mourning and full military funerals. quote: Indeed. And they're what the Soviets fought. Haven't you ever played Call of Duty?
a great game, loved playing it online...if the weaponry is accurate here i find it hard to see how the Germans did so well with their repeat load Kar98s...theyre slow as hell compared with the Lee Enfield and of course the yankees M1.

Actually they didn't. In that case, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. There was rarely a time when we did not clash with the Russians over strategy.

I'll have to look it up. I think Patton did lose in the beginning, but nothing too big. After that he chased Rommel's *ss across North Africa, up through the Boot, and all the way to Berlin (though Rommel killed himself in Fall 1944). quote: God damn those Russians. The cause of all these problems.

It all started with Russian invading Afhganistan back in the '70s. Before that, Osama was an architect or something...rebuilt a lot of the old buildings in Saudi Arabia. But after Russian invaded...well, no one can really explain why he decided international terrorism was better. I watched a documentary on him last year. Interesting man.

As in, "he's no Patton." quote: Of course I like Patton! We need more of him right now.
Seems like a good moment for a Patton quote: "Oh, and one last thing. I don't want to get any more messages that we're holding ground. We're not holding on to anything but the enemy. We're gonna grab him by the nose, and we're gonna kick him in the *ss. We're gonna go through him like sh*t through a goose. We're gonna murder those hun b*stards by the bushel."

Didnt we fight Panzers on D-Day?
Yep, but not the full compliment. If Hitler would have listened to Rommel (and kept the panzer together), he could have stopped Overlord in its tracks.
