I totally agree. We DO NOT need another Clinton in office. And *ahem* Bush *cough*cough* DID win the election. Some people did say that he lost in Florida by popular vote, but after the election was decided, and they counted again, Bush won by popular as well. I can tell you that before I vote (when I can) for a democrap . . . oops . . . (delete button is broken, sorry), I would vote for the green party. I feel very strongly about a lot of their enviromental issues, and I hope that the Republicans will start adapting some of those issues. And uh please Liberalchic, "reading a telepropter" is a VEERY high understatement of what ANY president do. Don't you dare call Bush stupid because first of all, you can't say that without insulting Gore since his IQ is (at a high) probably the same as an earthworms here. Come on now.

Gooberflinch- You say that I disrespected someone who's helped this country through so much, but I didn't say anything about Cheney! Come on, Bush puts out his goofy face and reads the telepromter, but how many decisions does anybody REALLY think that guy's making?

You're not alone. I completly agree just because someone won an election and gets to make some decisions does not make him any better then anyone else. I refuse to even think of a president as my leader. Especially if Iwasn't even allowed input in the election!

Well , I hate to be so alone on this subject , but I personally refuse to even acknowledge either of them as "my leader". Sorry , but just because someone decided to run for office , and happened to get in doesn't make them any more of a person than me or anyone else for that matter. I know... I must sound like the worst perosn alive right now. But please don't take this offensively. I'm not meaning to contradict anyone elses posts here. Just kind of putting in some input.

Well, I've heard so many people say Clinton was an idiot... or worse... It's nice that you have respect for our leaders (just don't get too carried away there...), and truthfully, sometimes I find myself AGREEING with Bush... (GASP!! NOOO!!) I don't like him, but he could be MUCH WORSE... shudder... rather not think about the possibilities... ¡

my thoughts exactly. and, redjill, you said something about having to put up with people saying all sorts of bad stuff about Clinton all those years. While I do think he was a liar, and a hypocrite, I would never call him stupid, or something so degrading. Although I did not agree with most of what he did, I still did have that element of respect for my leader. It's not a matter of whether or not you CAN have your opinion. It's a matter of wheter or not it's right to totally be nailing your president, who has helped this country through so much already....

I think some of you are misunderstanding some of us. You see wee think that it is disrespectful and wrong to call the president stupid. It is not wrong to call someone an audulterer if that is what he did (he admitted to it by the way). We feel that it is wrong to make unnessasary comments about the president. We DO NOT, however feel that you should be locked up in prison for it. You have the right to criticize him just as we have the right to think that your criticism is disrespectful and WRONG. Grrr, must I remind everyone ONCE AGAIN?? This is a democratic society, and anyone can say whatever they want about our leaders! If the president gets no criticism from other politicians and from the American people, what's to stop him from doing whatever he wants?? Okay, I know you're okay with criticism of Bush's policies, Gooberfinch, but as Americans, if we feel a certain way about someone, we can just say it! I think Bush is a little on the idiotic side myself... And like I've said before, I had to stand EIGHT years of outright Clinton bashing (which STILL hasn't ended... uh, he's not president anymore...), but did I make a huge to-do about it? No! Because it's their opinion of him, and the American public can say what they want about our politicians. No political leader is without vocal opposition, and if he (or she) is, it's because he/she silenced them forcibly (totalitarianism...). I cherish my right to speak my mind, and I think that if no one is criticising our leaders, there's something frightening about that..

how dare you call the President of the United States "stupid"! I am a total republican, but even if Gore had won the election, I would never even consider calling him stupid! That is so disrespectful to do to the man who has helped this country through so much! After everything he has done for you, it is disgusting that you would even go that low. It's one thing to disagree with his opinions, and to wish there was a democrat in office, but its another to just flat out go against the President, who is doing a perfectly fine job. Be careful what you call your leaders; they are there for a purpose. A house divided against itself shall certainly fall.

Angel face this is to you... The main reason GOre lost is because the republicans kept bringing up the clinton scandle so dont give crap about alcoholism and drugs becuase I do care about that!! I would have voted Democratic becasue I wam a more liberal person and enjoy living in a cleasn free world but its loosing all of that with a conservative edge. I will not give reasons or examples angelface becuase you ahve not given one fact to your side either and have presented your material in a bad format.

I don't know why conservatives call liberals that... but I think it's funny to make fun of myself like that. ” I voted for Gore, and I was so disappointed when he "lost". This system is really screwed up; the people don't really have a say, it's the stupid electoral college and the supreme court! Although I think the democrats could have picked a better candidate than Al Gore, Bush really annoys me. I didn't like him then, I don't like him now, and I probably never will. I think that he's just popular right now because everyone's all patriotic and gung-ho about this war, and any president who's in office during these sorts of times is always popular. It was the same way with his father during the Persian Gulf war, but soon after his approval rating dropped to some of the lowest of this century. But I don't hate republicans; I just disagree with them. I only really dispise them when they start bashing anyone who's not republican. I can't respect anyone who's not willing to listen to my views, because at least I try to give them a chance to share their opinions. Unless their opinions happen to be rather, ahem, disturbing... I completely agree with you that the Shrub (aka little Bush ) is a bit on the moronic side, but I just wanted to clarify the whole college thing. His daddy wasn't President at the time Georgie Porgie applied to school; the Bush presidency wasn't until the 1980s, and if Georgie had applied at that time, he'd only be in his 30s or so now, which I'm sure you know is not the case. In fact, he went to Yale in the 1960s-- back when admission to Yale was about MONEY, not grades. They didn't change the admissions standards to actually reflect academic achievement until 1969, and Daddy's pocket was certainly padded enough to get George Jr. in. He graduated with a C average; some of the professors were pretty ****ed off when Yale awarded him that honorary degree a year or two ago because they said he hadn't earned it

I haven't been following this board but here's my theory: Bush didn't win. Just to clarify that, it was just because of our system that he slid into office. Bush is stupid, and it seems there is no end to his malopropisms. Bush did get into a really great school, but who wouldn't accept a president's son into their college????????????????? And who would want to fail him for that matter????????????????????????????? Gore didn't strike me as a great leader, but I would most definitely want a democrat in the office. By the way, just a question do you think that maybe Bin Laden waited for a stupid president to come in office for this to happen? I'm not saying I believe that, but I just wanted to ask you guys

I'm all ears! ~Enjolras BTW, why does everyone keep calling me "enjolares"? Is my name showing up wrong on your browsers, or am I making a fool of myself by responding to posts meant for someone else (who really is named enjolares)? Not that I mind a mistake, but you're the second person to do that, X.

My 'bull about Bush ' was a simle remark that I didnt feel like arguing with her any longer. It's onvious that she had her views and opinions and I had mine and neither of us were going to budge. Fooling anyone.....that was a real good one I must admit....." HOW ORIGINAL" . And you wanna know why I said 'bull' (omg, it's just such a bad word) was because she started off with crack addict alchoholic. I believe what the democrats did by bringing up that past incident was a real cheap try for a win. I mean s**+ .... too bad we dont have a list of all the crap gore probably did when he was younger . Probably knocked up a few girls , smoked a little , whatever. That was why . Now please stop trying to contradict me . Because if you think your making yourself look good ..... you're not.

WE DON"T NEED ANOTHR DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT!!! Better that than Republican, I guess, but not by much! I'm all for Nader. BTW, who cares who won Florida? The electoral system is an outdated and tyrannical attempt made by the founding fathers (note absence of "mothers") to limit the freedom of the American people. The people who chose Al Gore. As iffy as the Florida ballots were, no one, I repeat, no one can argue that Gore did not win the popular vote. And that's what should count. ~Enj There are ways that a people can fight, we shall overcome their power! P.S. AngelFace, what do mean "bull about Bush"? Obviously you know that everthing JoyflGrrl said was absolutely true. You aren't fooling anyone, it's clear you just can't argue the facts.

Just drop it. Oh, and I'm not wasting my time to even go into that bull you wrote about Bush. So chill. I dont really care to go on with this any longer. Also I do not agree with this so-called terrorist bill. I notice you know whats going on with that also. So I'll out it this way. I do NOT agree with everything Bush has done or will do , but what can ya do about it anyway. I support him on a lot, but yes the new "terrorist bill" is full of sh!zznik. Just another invasion of privacy.
