I think religion is a thing that's keeping people from thinking rationally. I live in Malaysia and the majority of people here are Muslims, I'm not trying to gesture that I'm going against the Muslims but after the September 11 occurence, my Muslim friends who obviously know that the Muslim terrorists who was behind the destruction kept defending them saying that the Americans are the ones to be blamed for the Sept 11th incident. I couln't make sense of what they're trying to suggest coz clearly, the Americans were those who deserved the pity of the nation. I hink, though we know who's right or wrong in the certain situation, most of us are just trying to deny the faults of some people just because of the "religion" that they have in common. It's a shame that people are too afraid to accept what's true. I'm totally disgusted by Saddam's remark about the war in Iraq as a war against Islam. I have nothing against Islam, but I just wish for the people to use more of their brains to think.. and not be affected by religious sentiments.. what's wrong is wrong. Frown

I agree...sometimes peoples' strong beliefs cloud their judgement.

I agree, of all the stupid things to fight over, fighting over books and stories no one can prove, is the stupidest.

America excepts everybody into it's homeland, no matter what color or religion, muslims died for working in America on September 11th, yet we are evil because we strive for equality....doesn't make sense to me Frown

Debate, discussion, and dialogue of course.
Patriotism should not be a disabling force,
Are we really upholding the constitution?
Or breeding hate in Iraq’s social institution.
War is nothing more than destroying humanity,
Not of one man, but of innocent people, insanity.
U.S. military will have to kill in cruelty,
The outcome of war, is horror, unquestionably.
Average corporal is the age of 19 years old.
War for my protection, and his, I’m not sold.
U.N. charter forgoes war with any land,
If we are attacked, then begin military command.
Collective security gives pass for war,
Did Iraq attack? Or say “inspections no more?”
In 1991 Iraq had weapons it failed to declare,
In 1991 the Security Council failed to care.
Iraq is destroyed, in complete economic ruins,
Our system is corrupt, what exactly are we doin?
We stated our objective in 1991 as if in a dream,
“At all costs remove Sadam Hussein’s Regime.”
Then we used U.N. weapons inspectors as spies.
December of 98 we provoked a fight, using lies.
86 in 92 “military” targets were aimed at Sadam.
Iraq has no anthrax, it is decomposed and gone,
What about mobile labs? Hypothesis or fact?
Defectors are fabricated, committing false attack,
Coached into action by Sadam’s future successor.
Speculation is the order of the foreign aggressor.
Why should I trust government photographs?
Israel knows Iraq posses no horrible gas,
And they are in the middle of the hornet’s nest.
Inspectors were getting support from the best,
Bush does not want to disarm, as it would seem,
He wants to change a regime, make mad cream.
Bush wants Sadam’s head on a plate, forget cost,
No cause, he is ready to move on, to cut the loss.
A vendetta is no case, to erase the human race.
We are not within the law, we are out of place,
Living dangerously outside of international law,
Will be much more then an American flaw.
We have become pride. Overly pride ridden,
A dangerous sin, look at what we‘re gettin,
Nothing more than a rogue-superpower.
Material comfort is not citizenship, it‘s sour.
