before i was sure that he wouldn't be reelected, but now with the capture of saddam and his new policy on allowing illegal immigrants more benefits his popularity is bound to increase and plus the competition isn't doig to well with the public.

I pray to God that he's not. He's already done enough damage to this country and Iraq. He's ruined our economy, our environment, and gotten us into a pointless war that will take at least twenty years before we're out of it. Mad

I am a Bush supporter but if Bush was not reelected i don't think it would bother me that much. If you think about it how much does the president really affect your life? Most of his decisions deal with things involving government and the supreme court etc. but he doesn't decide things like what you will eat for lunch today or what movie you should go see tonight. He doesnt even affect your school which is the most liberal part of your life as a student. Schools are a state run association not national. The main way he really affects your life is by your parents' taxes. idk, i guess it's fun to fight w/ everybody about who should be president but it seems like a waste of time to debate about things that don't have anything to do w/ us.

Excuse me? If I were you I would have said "better a "left-wing freak show democrat than a liar who destroyed the economy and started a war."

Counties won by Gore: 677
Counties won by Bush: 2436
Population of counties won by Gore: 127 Million
Population of counties won by Bush: 143 Million
Square miles of country won by Gore: 580,000
Square miles of country won by Bush: 2,427,000
States won by Gore: 19
States won by Bush: 29
Source: USA Today

Looking at these numbers helps one to understand the wisdom of
our forefathers in creating the Electoral College system.
The difference in the vote count in just New York City might have elected
Al Gore, in a popular vote only system.

National Popular Vote for Gore 50,996,116
National Popular Vote for Bush 50,456,169
Electoral Votes for Gore 266
Electoral Votes for Bush 271

"Although the Democrats did try to steal the election by attempting to deny military members the right to vote"

The democrats simply attempted (unsuccessfully) to discount votes that had been sent in after the deadline.

"BUSH WON THE ELECTORAL VOTE. Popular vote is all well and good, but Gore lost."

Popular vote is EVERYTHING. The electoral college does not take into account MARGIN of victory. The candidate gets the same amount of electoral votes whether he won by 1 vote or 10 million.

Well, seeing as this is the year a new 36-year cycle in Presidential politics starts, it's time for Bush to go bye-bye.

Just fact, ICM. Were you born before the 2000 election? If so, odds are you followed it. The 7-member, Democrat Florida Supreme Court gave Gore the first recount 7-0, and continued to vote along partisan lines until the Supreme Court finally said "enough".

no...more then enough people are angry over using our tax money for religious structures.

And the bill he is trying to pass to limit overtime pay is not winning any votes from the working class...his days are numbered.

People are looking to the Green Party to undo the destruction of our forests at the hands of Bush.

Do I still think he did some good things...yup...but he's losing it now...

Yes, he is trying to lower the years immagrants have to wait to become a US citizen, trying to lower taxes, and having the health benifit and trying to teach abstinence. This has happened in history before, he will get most of the immagrants vote (well, for Bush's Party) and get the vote of most of the people who have high taxes. People who can't afford health coverage and the other people who want abstinence taught.

Also, he will get most of the people who said 'Yes' for the war with Iraq... it's obvious. But, I think he is better than Kerry and Dean, ect.

He's done a lot for this country, you have to admit.

Although the Democrats did try to steal the election by attempting to deny military members the right to vote, the fact is that BUSH WON THE ELECTORAL VOTE. Popular vote is all well and good, but Gore lost. If you don't like the Constitution, change it. Since the Democrats would love to supress the white and rural vote by eliminating the Electoral College, I'd want to eliminate the House of Representatives to make up for that and assign three Senators to rural states.

Of course, the current system is probably a little better, because the EC in no way violates the equal protection since it does not accord any group an unfair amount of protection. In fact, it's entire purpose is to ensure that the votes of smaller states and rural voters are counted at all, which the urban liberals would love nothing more than to surpress.

According to the parameters set by the constitution, it's not legal for Republicans to keep Blacks off of vote rolls and out of voting booths, and the Electoral College violates equal protection under the law...

It's not about Electoral College versus Popular Vote, though I think the Electoral College is unconstitutional and outdated, its about the fact that GORE WON BOTH THE POPULAR AND ELECTORAL VOTES.
Repeat with me you stupid mother****ers:
RECOUNTING IS NOT STEALING AN ELECTION, RECOUNTING IS NOT STEALING AN ELECTION,
RECOUNTING IS NOT STEALING AN ELECTION.
