First of all, there is pleather, and I believe there is something called PVC, which is being widely used as a leather alternative by a lot of fashion designers (I read this in a fashion magazine). And faux fur is also made from synthetic fibers and such. My view on all of this is that wearing another creatures skin is cruel and indecent, a lot of these animals are skinned alive, how would you feel if your friend was killed for their skin?

I disagree. Certain Animal products still outpreform synthetics in many situations. I personally prefer goose down for sleeping bags/jackets. Speaking from experiance with both down and synthetic stuff of course. Also, at extremely low temperatures, sythetics lose thier flexibility and become brittle, while natural fur or similar material are still useful. Plus you know, it can look nice. And really, I never hear all that much complaining about leather. What the heck is the difference?
