Well, the primary role of a business is to create money.
How can a business - say, in California - make money if it:
A) Has to deal with unions
B) Has to pay outrageous amount of taxes
C) Has to pay its employees a force-fed minimum wage
????
You want to know why we have jobs leaving the country? Well, look at those three things; you cannot have your employees create their own little mob democracy and force YOU to do things at their whims.
Same goes for the taxes that keep being tacked on; how are you expected to stay in a place where the sales tax, use tax, permit application taxes, utility taxes, property taxes, etc. keep going up?
I can go off on the minimum wage, too, but you get my point.
Yes, globalization provides more wealth for a lot of people and countries, but so-called "free trade agreements" are not globalization; they're protectionist measures designed to keep out competition from a certain quadrant or group.
But I can assure you if it were up to me, and I had to face the unions, the sky-high taxes, and the federal/state regulations, I'd be going overseas too to look for cheaper labor.
People blast businesses for doing this, for setting up "sweatshops" or "tax havens."
Well, what do you expect when everything you own, produce, and make is either taxed, regulated, or bargained away?

My dad's 42, and his spelling is a lot worse than mine was when I was 12. There's no need to insult people unduly.

Ditto Socrates. More and more fields of work and study are being opened up every day. We have more opportunities now than ever before. The people being most affected by this are the ones who already have a set career and are more or less restricted to one particular job area. Love, Jen.

Are you sure you're 42? I've seen 12-year-olds on this site with better grammar than you.

These make up for those leaving the country. Globalization= net gain in jobs. Not in certain fields of course. The people who lose jobs will have trouble getting new ones, but for teens, globalization means more jobs available since we are still in the process of getting our educations, and can seek the eeducation needed to get the new openings.
