___It is the parent's job to teach their children that sex is bad, but as long as they don't start up a "sex-club" or "sex-class"(even if it's against teen sex) it wouldn't hurt if they included more information about the many risks invovled in a health class(both in middle and high school).

I think hes gonna find the amount of teens with aids and stds will go way up not to mention the number of pregnent teenage girls. Its obvious that kids have sex the way they teach it now doesnt promote it but it does make sure that those that choose too are safe.

From what I've found, if you tell someone NOT to do something, it makes it more likely they will do it. For example, if you tell someone "don't look!" don't they ALWAYS turn their head and look? Or if you tell someone "do not go in there!" don't they always try to get wherever you don't want them to go? Anyways...abstinence is a great idea, but realistically it probably won't be practiced by the majority of teens. The next best thing that can be done is telling them what WILL happen if they choose to have sex, and how they can deal with it.

It seems to be motivated by ideology rather than doing what would be most effective. When I had sex ed in middle school we had to end each class by chanting "abstinence abstinence abstinence!", but for some odd reason I doubt that dissuaded anyone from ****ing around.
