Hey everyone. Does anyone here think that teens need more of a voice in today's world? I need help from all of you. Me and a few of my friends are trying to put together a Teen U.N type thing. Where Teens could represent themselves. What We need is people to help and support. What this group will do is have 2 teens from each state represent their state in issues going on...especially for their age group. Many people have come forward to help but there isn't enough. I believe that if we band together then we can GET a REAL voice. We should have a say to what we learn in school and what rules should be applied to us. If you wish to join or help out please email me at Katz1488@aol.com if you wish to know more details before you decide then email here at this site or at my email above. I hope some of you come forward to HELP! it takes us working together to make a difference in our lives. Won't you help?

lol. They are open. Even if they were filled. We would still take you...cause the two representers of the state needs poeple or what we like to call them their "cabinet" Big Grin (kind of like the presdent's cabinet) But i would like you to be a representive cause those are what we need most. E-mail me at Katz1488@aol.com and I will send you a sample questionair. It's just like 10 questions so i know about you and what you think or blieve in, and i can send it to our other members so they know about you too. Send me your email address and I'll send you mine too...cause everyone has to fill them out. I'll email Molly (she's from Maine) To send you hers as well. Molly and I were the first members...we kind of started it. I'm glad your interested. Email me soon and i'll give you more details and also have you talk to other members so you get to know everyone. thanx

I know exactly what you are saying because these issues have come up with many of our current members. 1st of all we plan to try to get our sentors to help because number 1) It's good media for them if they help...and bad if they don't (hehe not that we are trying to blackmail anyone lol) 2) Since it is a issue of their state...and we plan on having all the sentors getting these letter on the same day in the country...they HAVE to least look at it. We all may have to write a few times even...and I know that might still not work...there's always plan B with raising money tho schools...and also ourselves. In Ct my friend and I are already trying to find out where we can put out money raising cans....at libarays and places. And we DO plan to take action. If we can get recogonized we would want to be able to have our vote in public issues too. As in if Ct is having a vote on school funds...the CT representers would take votes from their state from teens who call in (planning on setting up a web site) and then take our vote to the council and have OUR vote. I know it sound shaky but everything has to have a beginning and with your help we can have that. And I know your still thinking "Well...what if no one listens?" I doubt we will be completely ignored...but even so...what good is it if we don't try it? If you have more questions...just ask!

I'm interested but yet skeptical at the same time.

How is this organization going to be funded? Also, withour adult sponsors and advisors, i doubt the group would be seriously taken. You mentioned there would be discussion about issues but would the group take any action? If not, it's just another "fluff" club.

Peace,
Confetti
