quote: It's sad, really, when women have to cover their faces with a veil
They don't -have- to, it's their personal choice. Most of my Muslim friends don't because they don't feel it's necessary. Depends on the person. quote: A friend of mine from California, a Muslim, is extremely gorgeous. Seriously, one of the prettiest girls ever, I think. Yet if she were to show her face or her stomach in Saudi Arabia or Yemen or something, she'd be stoned and or beaten.
Uhm, you just said she lives in California, not Saudi Arabia. So she's fine without wearing one because no one will supposedly stone her. And FYI, In Saudi Arabia, women have the general option of covering their faces. Stonings are -extremely- rare. And I strongly emphasize extremely. In countries like Jordan, and Israel, most Muslims don't even bother covering themselves. Joey, where exactly do you get this bogus crap? quote: Aw, but Islam is such a peaceful religion. *sarcasm*
Yes, it is. If Christianity was more understanding and peaceful in general, these radicals from either religion would most likely not feel the need to scar society.

quote: Expect a post from me in a couple of days on this, wrote to a couple of my friends in England who are Muslims, I’ll post their statements when I get them.
I definately look forward to reading their replies! Hey Joey, long time no see. Where exactly did you recieve that email from? I am very curious. I know a few muslim girls at my school and they are friends with Christians, and they are also not forced to wear burka type clothing. I think you are looking at much too specific fanatical beliefs. The Muslim people that I know are extremely kind. ~Becca

Expect a post from me in a couple of days on this, wrote to a couple of my friends in England who are Muslims, I’ll post their statements when I get them.
But one statement that I know is untrue is the Muslims can't make allegiance to Christians or Jews, Muslims are taught to accept them, and in fact embrace them as brothers. It's the radical's that put a bad name to them. How would like it if I judge all Christians on what I see on the 700 club, or the various televangelists?
As for the Constitution being based on biblical principals, sorry but almost all the founding fathers were deist, and got a lot of their ideas off of Archaic Greece, and in particular Athens. I mean come on Jefferson pretty much copied Thoreau when he wrote the Declaration of Independence. If you ask any real historian, they will tell you that they were Deist. Besides you think that Christians were the first to think up a lot of these ideas, if you look critically in history you will find that a lot of the Christian Ideals were based on the ancient Greek mystery religions. I'm not saying the Greeks were the first to think it up, but what your really see is reoccurring themes throughout all religions.

well, i know that you're christian, but this post seems rather un-christian.
you left out one very important one.
legally: yes. the united states was built freedom of religion into their constitution, so muslims have every right to be american.

Joey, What you are sharing with all these people is NOT general Islamic beliefs. Your email speaks of the fanatics (hhmm...kinda like you). Not all women are forced to wear veils, and something some people do not want to admit, some of these women want to be wearing these veils. quote: Theologically, no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.
Joey, isn't your allegiance to a Christian God, so how can you be an "American"? quote: Socially, no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.
This is an untrue assumption. Muhammad actually taught to accept the Christians and Jews, because Allah is the same God (see the story of Abraham and Ishmael). quote: Politically, no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great Satan.
These are the fanatics!!! Not the regular, run of the mill Muslim. quote: Domestically, no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).
If we are going to take everything literally, and pay no attention to historical context, let's start talking about all the horrible things people were permitted to do in the Old Testament. You do take the Old Testament as true right? quote: Intellectually, no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles, and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.
I would like to know the exact Biblical principles the Constitution is based on. And if you actually knew anything about Islam Joey, you would see it is one of the most accepting religions in this world. quote: Spiritually, no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while
Allah is NEVER referred to as our heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names.
Allah and the Christian God are the one and the same!!! God you freak me out Joey, you really do!

quote: Philosophically, no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression.
Out of all of those (which are up for debate), this one excerpt is painfully true. It's sad, really, when women have to cover their faces with a veil. A friend of mine from California, a Muslim, is extremely gorgeous. Seriously, one of the prettiest girls ever, I think. Yet if she were to show her face or her stomach in Saudi Arabia or Yemen or something, she'd be stoned and or beaten. Aw, but Islam is such a peaceful religion. *sarcasm*
