I think that certain individuals should be allowed the right to own and operate a gun if they a) aren't a child, b) know how to work a gun correctly, and c) have no criminal record involving guns.
It is the irresponsibility that comes with operating a gun that kills people, so not everyone should be allowed to own one.

18 for legal gun ownership. Thats why I'm going to be buying a Beretta model 92(F) soon.
No, you go into a Gun store, go through the paperwork, wait the few days then get the bloody gun.
Because the police aren't always there. Or if the government decides to userp total control, an armed populous is needed for an effective revolt.
No. My family owns 5 guns total. One .22 Colt Match Target; One Winchester 30-30 lever action; One .38 Sat. Night Special revolver; One .22 Bolt action long arm; One World War Two Japanese battle Rifle (not sure which model) recalibered to 30.06 Guns can only be a problem through improper storage and use. If the owner is responsible, any child will not be able to get its hands on it, or if that does happen, there will be no threat. Also, guns can be stored at a shooting range or hunting lodge.
Before someone goes off on how bad hunting is, let me ask you some questions. How much of one's tax dollars go to preserving the woods and other nature areas? Answer: None. So where does the money come from? Hunting liscenses.

How is it possible that a child under the age of 15 could get a gun that they did not get from their parent's house but got it from the store?
Don't you need to be 21 or something to get a gun?
I mean do they just say "Okay, give me a bag of chips, some candy, those donuts over there and yea a revolver"?
Man, why should we need to carry guns if the police should be on this buisness?
Guns could become dangerous if you have a family, right?
Bye N have a nice day
