Some of you may have heard that Bush wants to change french fries to freedom fries. Why? Because France doesn't support this war on Iraq.French fries have been around for practically forever. Why change this familar name for such a trivial matter? What do you think?

If Congress considers renaming French Fries to "Freedom Fries" then I say okay, as long as he considers that more important that franco-american relations...
May I remind you, France is our oldest ally, and besides helping us attain our independence they GAVE us the Statue of Liberty. (The veritable symbol of America)

honestly i think that the idea to change french fries to "freedom Fries" is one of the stupidest things i've ever heard. now do we have to take freedom classes? and are people who live in Quebec Freedom Canadians? are the teens gonna start "freedom kissing"? I don't think they see what damage this could do.... hehe

It was congress, not Bush, who considered changing the name of French fries. This is a highly trivial matter, but considering France's business investments in Iraq, corruption, and anti-Americanism lately I think they're getting what they deserve already. Many people have already boycotted France, what would be the point of changing the name of French Fries right now anyway? Afterall, we fought a Cold War with the Soviets for years and never changed the name of Russian Dressing.

The new official name is "Freedom Fries" and "Freedom Toast". This was introduced by an Ohio Congressman (name escapes me), NOT Bush.
Way to represent my ****ing state you worthless piece of slime.

Renameing the fries is just a propaganda issue. He thinks it might influence kids, or just make America seem more free as he takes away rights and adds new laws.

Why should we change the name? Hardly anyone says French fries anyway! Jeez only old ppl say it! Anyway, it doesnt matter about the name! Did the french even invent fries? who cares anyway. What matters is how a food tastes, not the name. Then what about french toast? are we gonna call that freedom toast? that sounds just stupid! Just because a country doesnt help us or somethin doesnt mean we need to change food names. ~NIK~

If Bush changes the name he might start to want to change names of other things. What if Belgium disagrees with us about something and he changes belgium waffles to freedom waffles. That would be really stupid.

What, so Bush has control over what foods are called now? Will he send stormtroopers into any McDonalds that is caught selling vile "French" fries? Sheesh... you give a guy a presidency and it goes straight to his head.

I do not think French fries should be changed to freedom fries. Just because France doesn't agree with us doesn't mean we need to go changing something stupid like the name of a food. If we boycott anything having to do with France we should boycott anything having to do with all the countries that don't support a war with Iraq.
