Yes, my friends. It is true. The battle cry of the revolutionaries who gave their lives to free this country has now been turned around for many places such as Guam, Samoa, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. They do not pay taxes like the other states in the union yet they are allowed to have a vote in the House of Representatives. Does anyone else think this is insulting? I sure do.

Okay, in Puerto Rico, I heard that they don't pay taxes. I'm just saying Puerto Rico ONLY because I'm sorry, but I don't know about the other places who are said that they don't pay taxes.

But don't listen to me, I'm basically always wrong.

That's all I wanted to say.

Bye n Have a nice day

So these politicians actually serve in the U.S. Senate and House of Represenatives?

That's a list of the candidates for Puerto Rican "U.S. Commissioner," the non-voting member of Congress from our soon-to-be (I hope) 51st state.

Now, who's the idiot?

Yeah, they should have to pay taxes if they get to have a say in what goes on in this country.

I know Puerto Rico is a U.S. commonwealth, and does have a Congressman, but I have always read that he never votes.

PR doesn't require its citizens to pay a federal income tax, because, hence, it's a commonwealth, not an actual state.

Side note, but if I were a big corporation, I would deflect to an overseas island - especially a commonwealth - to avoid the ridiculous regulations and taxes in the states.

Now THAT's smart business strategy.

Bushsupporter, never call me your friend. Especially if you're going to spout random ridiculous things like this. That's just silly and not based in fact.

They pay taxes to their local governments.

And one thing is confusing me, if they don't have represenatives from their territories in the U.S. House of Represenatives and the Senate, how can they have a vote there?
