So you agree that organizations like the Black Panthers & the Nation of Islam are racist.

Heres my two pence.
I turned 18 last September so I jumped on my first chance to have my voice heard.

And as a first time voter here is how i perceived each parties message to the voting public:

Labour: We've done well over the last 8 years, look at the economy but not at the war in Iraq.
Personallly, i don't hate Tony Blair as many do - we all make mistakes and frankly I don't think Saddam Hussain being gone is a bad thing at all. The only quarm i have with Blair is his relationship with Bush - i despise Bush for so many reasons. Mainly his religious (although im sure this makes me a hater in some peoples eyes)

Conservative: Look at our scary new snobbish pompous hypocrite of a leader - watch him insult Tony Blair personally and say he's the root of all evil and the kinda guy that will rape your kids if you leave them alone near him. The hate tactics just don't wash with me - if the only way to win over a few voters is by instigating a high profile slagging match, then my vote isnt worth wasting on them.

Lib Dem: Neither Labour nor Conservative. Ginger leader - therefore appeals to minorities Wink

BNP: Racists, victim complex to get attention, liers, scum of the earth. The bottom of the barrel of society lead by educated few who want to get power and noteriety by being far right - not noble at all and in no way a show of what it is to be British.

UKIP: The EU is the future - why the hell would we want to be out of it?

Kilroys party: Kilroy makes me laugh - one day he'll go mad (see: JAM [I love you Chris Morris])

And therefore, Labour got my vote.

erm i can't remember what point i was tryign to make when i aimed to write this all out, but now i have it all clear in my head, so if i remember later ill post again Wink

-Ben

turnout was 61% of the 40million elligible voters from a population of 60million. Of which 9million voted for Labour, who gained a majority of just over 60 seats in the House of Commons.

what was the turn out of the election? Was it comparable to the 2004 US elections?

The Nazi political party is responsible of most racial attacks.

Thankyou very much!

i also stayed up to watch th election and was also disapointed with the result...i'd hoped for a much larger majority so the vital reforms the country needs could be continued with less argument.

As for Galloway I loved his argument against the American bafoons who critised him, i bet they wish they had never messed with him now. But the man is an idiot himself and a traitor.

Being britsh and having stayed up all night to watch th elction,i held my head in my hands when Labour was once again elceted. But only one more term to enjure Tony Bliar at least..

In response to "reactionary05'i disagree, the BMP can not be praised for anything they stand for, there rasist and have no place in the House of commons, along with UKIP.

Britsih politics should take a lead from Grorge Gallaway, who is slating Conress mmebers, making a lot of noise for his cause, and truely standig up for wahat he believes in.

(riskbreaker86,good luck with the exam results)

There is a difference between healthy patriotism and racist nationalism. The only people who voted for the BNP in the recent elections were low life, working class common scum who know absolutly nothing about our fine history and are nationalist just because they are told they should be. This patriotism burns within all of us here but we are very tollerant and accepting of foreign cultures races and religions, it's what makes Britain great and the BNP makes us sick.

While I support Israel (which automatically seperates me from the BNP), I do like how they are taking a stand for their race and culture, something that America is in desperate need of currently.

Racist is not something I would call the British, it depends what type of people you have met/hosted etc. The British are the most charitable nation of Earth, and the country is the most multi-cultural society in history, you only have to walk through the streets of a big city to realise that the Empire created a homeland which incorporates every part of the former empire from Burma to India and to the Caribbean.

i hate the way tony blair sucks it up to wish...its totally not what a leader of a former kingdom like yours is expected to do..not that i am pro your historical policies...
and to tell yoo honestly i meet a lot of britishers from time to time..and host dinners for them at home and i find them all racist of varying degrees...it just gets to me that even after so many years they still feel very superior and stuff.....

The Torys economic policies are based on cutbacks and privatisation. Something clearly wrong as our economy is booming under Brown currently.

The BNP! sorry but they are Nazis and detested nationwide. Let me tell you a little story....Their Xmas party was ruined as the DJ they hired turned out to be black, this ruined their whole party and when asked for comment they said 'he sounded white on the phone'....they also are strongly anti-muslim, yet the only people who will print their newsletter is a muslim publishers as nobody else will go near it.

I like Tony Blair for the most part, and I'm glad he got elected. As for others, I like the Torie's economic polices and most of the BNP's social policies.

Oh, Tony Blair. . . *shudder* No, I'm not British and therefore do not live in Britain, but after Blair's decision in the war and everything. . . I can't say I respect him. I was pretty ticked when he got re-elected as prime minister, actually. If he hadn't, that would have been one less ally for Bush.
