Regardless of whether Fidel is in power or not (which he isn't), the Cuban embargo should be lifted. Not because of the change of power but because to be intellectually honest, we should have an embargo on all communist nations. This could and should never happen. It is a proven fact (i.e. China) that trade relations leads to more open and democratic markets. This is good for the world and good for thecitizens of that country. China is a perfectly good example.

Question:
Should the US continue the embargo on Cuba?

Choices:
No
Of course not
Absolutely not
Are you crazy, no
Nope

Of course the embargo should be lifted!!! It is crippling the Cuban economy and the ordinary Cubans are paying the price. They are living in terrible poverty. Mad

That's rich... Coincidentally, Guantanamo Bay, a US-run prison where torture is used openly is also on the island. Maybe it's America that ought to "agree to certain terms regarding human rights violations", eh notsojoey?

Of course trade is good. Anyone who thinks otherwise has already severed ties with civilization, sold all their belongings, and moved into an isolated cabin in the Rockies.
