http://www.indyweek.com/durham/2002-05-08/news.htmlI have already been boycotting that hell hole for a long time. That place is absolutely horrible, and what's ironic, is that it is the perfect model for American capitalism. It's the American dream. We were talking about Wal-Mart in class last night, actually. They set the prices for everything, that is why their **** is so cheap. Wal-Mart will go to a company and make an order. Then the company will tell them, "Ok, we can get you 1,000,000 of Product X at $5.89 per product." Then Wal-Mart will say that's too high, and they will only pay $2.00 per unit. Then they turn around and walk away, and the company will do anything to keep them. A lot of these companies are forced to lay people off, and move most of their production to other countries to exploit slave labor, just so they can sell to Wal-Mart, because it's the only way they can stay in business. Wal-Mart is the devil. **** Wal-Mart, and **** all of the numbskull idiots who support them.

I heard something really gross about Wal Mart (well, i think it was walmart). It was that they are going to put things into their product, like computer chips, that track things about their costomers or how much of that product is bought or somethng. i dunno, my dad told me this, so i'm not really sure where he got the source from.

What's great about Wal-Mart is that there are never any parking spaces. Regardless of what time it is, what day it is, etc., the parking lots are always full. I must go to Wal-Mart tomorrow to return stale taco shells worth a whopping $.83 + tax. See, cheap people like me go there for cheap products. You get what you pay for. quote: I wouldn't have a problem with Wal-Mart if they'd stop doing business with a Communist country.
Have you not noticed that most American and Canadian countries do business with China? My television was made in China. My computer was made in China. My desk, kitchen table, dinnerware, and miniature Fourth of July flag was manufactured in China. And all of those items, along with a plethora of others, were not purchased at Wal-Mart or any other Wal-Mart affiliate. America is in business for cheap business.

ive said several thing as against repubs mainly in Illinois and and isay that clinton did do one thing right. and again generalizing is ok as long as the majority of what you are generalizing supports you. if that makes sense.
i do have nothing nice to say about kerry mainly because me and the rest of America have no idea who he is or what he stands for. i am all for walmart, but more and more goods bought from china means that more and more workers in America are being put out of jobs.

what? i have absolutley no idea what you just said. quote: you on the other hand have said nothing in support of bush
and you've said nothing in support of kerry. at least i don't bash the general conservative public. quote: unfortunately, Americans demand lower price products
ya its called bussiness. supply and demand? ring a bell? so they look for the best price, good for them. if they didn't, we'd be living in a communist country and every product would SUCK. besides, many people can't AFFORD to buy expensive crap because of the state of the economy and the consiquential state of their personal finances.

I wouldn't have a problem with Wal-Mart if they'd stop doing business with a Communist country.
And you're right redrepublican, the unionists and those dangerous collectivists want to be able to dictate to private business owners what THEY want you to do.
And that is why businesses go bankrupt.

unfortunately, Americans demand lower price products. so until we start accepting goods at higher costs, this is what we have. competition keeps retailers on thier toes wich is good. unions odnt like walmart cuz they take away money from union stores. and there making a stink about competition.

I try to boycott Wal-Mart as much as possible, simply for the two reasons listed below:
1) Communist China provides most of their products
2) Wal-Mart saps up all the local competition by re-selling "Made in the USA" merchandise from Communist China

purpledog you cant do one that glorifies bush weither and i have bashed republicans. mainly opn the jack ryan case for being utter morons. i also think that liberals know how to play the game of media better than repbs and some are just too stupid to use liberal's tactics against liberals. you on the other hand have said nothing in support of bush. costco still takes jobs away from Unions. tell me why dont theygo after them?

wal mart is not completely bad! there are some people in our "spoiled" country that cant afford to buy things at regular places.
think of the positive attributes to wal mart. it has created countless jobs. there are about 3,500 wal-mart related stores (wal mart, wal mart supercenter, grocery store, and sams club) and another 1,300 plus around the world. and they have 1.5 million workers in america. so for every new wal mart that creates 450 new direct jobs. and as a result more jobs are made in other industries, so each wal-mart could potentially bring thousands of new jobs (consider doubling ratio)
now i do belive wal mart is bad in some respects but where would america be without it? the truth is we NEED wal mart! it may end the mom and pop store, but thats what they were saying when the idea of the supermarket came out. (one stop shopping). i am a proud member of sams club. by buying in bulk i am saving on gas and other utilities. i love mass production!

anyone heard of costco? how come the Unions dont go after them? maybe its because costco oppenly supports democrats and kerry? maybe they go after walmart because they have raised over 100 grand for bush? granted costco isnt as big as walmart but it still opposes mom and pop type stores. why not costco?

I have family that work at the home office at Wal-Mart. There are people from all over who used to work for places like Polo Ralph Lauren, Dupont, Norstroms, etc... These are very intelligent people being treated like ****. Wal-Mart does not respect their employees like they say they do, yes they do the occasional party for some hourly workers in some small town, but mostly it's just propoganda. I hate Wal-Mart. They don't give people insurance until a YEAR after the person has worked there, and at Wal-Mart they don't pay you enough to pay for your medicine with out it. The hours at the home office are supposed to be 7:30-5:30, but usually they schedule meeting for 5:30 and have them last for two hours! Most people don't get to see their families until Sunday, because employees at the Home Office are required to come to Saturday morning meetings that start at 7:30 and then you're required to work until 12. The open door policy is a sham, they only allow that so that it makes it easier for the bosses to fire complaining employees. If you go on a bussiness trip you only get $25 dollars to eat a day. And they don't pay for your transport. They'll make you take impossible day trips that most companies would allow to be 2-day trips (such as they'll make you drive 8 hours somewhere, then drive back so you can work the next day).
I do not approve of the corporation, all it is is a propaganda pushed market.
much luv
