At first I just went along with Christianity because my parents brought me to church and we did all the Christian things, but then around 12 when my mom got me a Bible and I started reading it more I decided for myself. I'm Christian because the religion just makes sense to me and I feel God's presence. People usually assume you haven't formed your own opinion because you're the same religion as your parents, but that's not usually the case.

believing completely in one religion depends on the kind of person you are and also to some extent your family background and the kind of education levels, exposure and finally the goegraphy of your country...... i am hindu and i don't have complete faith in hinduism, for me my personal religion is a mix of christianity, buddhism and hinduism.. i went to a catholic school, so i was bought up to like and love jesus. i somehow am in awe of buddhism... hinduism has been in me from my birth. . but looking at all three, they are all the same just said by 3 different people in many different ways ...all each religion preaches about is compassion, love and honesty towards everything in life (living and non-living)........

If your family can't accept that yours is different than theirs, that's their problem. You shouldn't have to be afraid to show your true colours, no matter how different thay are from you family's.

stand strong, don't let anyone break you down! It is sad that there is actually a town where you are not allowed to express who you are, this is religion, this is sick!

I am an athiest and I attend Christian worship. I agree that it's a sad deal... The reason I do it is this: I live in a very small, close-knit, and exuberantly protestant community. To be frank, I am just not emotionally stable enough to be ostracized by everyone I have ever known, which is exactly what I believe will happen if I make my true beliefs known. I loathe my situation, but it's just all I can do at this point in my life.

I find it silly not to actually believe in your religion. If you are made to, that is sad. I believe you have the right to choose what you want to believe in. I beleive in my religion with my heart and soul, and wont walk away from it, and that was my decision.
