Our statue,that stands proudly,says this.If we didn't mean it,why would it be there? We are supposed to be free,and anyone who chooses to live here,even if they weren't born here,should have the same rights.So why are people denying this..and saying that immagrants should not be allowed here? Why are we refusing to accept people from other countries? Think about it.If we go back far enough,we're all from different countries.
I welcome immigrants. I love the idea of legal immigration. In fact, I think it should be made easier for someone from a different country to gain citizenship. However, I'll never support illegal immigration. If we have to pay taxes, an immigrant should too.

It's not that we want to turn people away from the vast opportunities of our country. America is a giant hodge-podge of cultures and ideas, a whirlwhind of diversity. That's what makes it so great. It's just that when people enter our country "under the radar," it's almost like stealing. Say you own a restaurant, a fast food place that isn't hard to be hired at, and you find out someone's been working there that didn't apply. Now not only are you offended because it seems like they're being disrespectful, but you realize that they're taking a paycheck that could be given to those who were fairly hired. They're taking tips that they shouldn't be taking, when all they had to do was apply for a job. It's only fair to the other employees and applicants.

I just don't like when people call mexicans lazy! Cant these people see them working in the fields all day? But yes the mexicans that come here to abuse the welfare system is just stealing from the hand that feeds. But you shouldn't be allowed to take the benefits of living in our country before you put in a fair share.
It's of no need because some American's also based in abroad. They say "travel is part of education" so i think those people who strongly oppose the situation of having immigrants have not even gone any where beside America and they need proper lecture for them to improve and become more sensitive

Ok why should you be against illegal immigration. Don't you think people want to be legal? That test to become a citizen is made harder and harded so they can keep people out. I was born here and I can't even pass the test.The only way to stay is to have a visa which goes up in price alot faster then we think. So the only option is being illegal for most people. Most them are here to support themselves and there family not here to do any harm. This shouldn't be a huge, in a way we're all illegal.
why should we learn your culture if you guys don't even know your own culture?
America's culture is a mix of everything. you go to one place and the culture is different there. New York is different than California. However, I think that immigrants should learn English rather than make us learn Spanish.

I think we should accept everyone, eventually. We need to take care of our own citizens first and when people born in the US are living in horrible, horrible conditions and can't get a job because an immigrant will work for even less that's a problem. I also think all immigrants need to learn the language and culture if they don't know it. We should be one big country, not a country with many enclaves in it.

I don't think anyone has mentioned halting all immigration. We've been talking about putting an end to illegal immigration, which is certainly not necessary to our country.

(TWO) We are not talking about the world as a playground, and the U.S. thumbing its nose at the other little children, saying "Nah nah, we're too good for you!" We're talking about the U.S. as a nation protecting its societal, economical, and security interests. If you have an actual contribution to that discussion, go right ahead.
