Yea you all know that Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and he was a president and blah blah blah...but did you know about how he got a little too "friendly" with his slaves? When you find out you are related to a pres, you may get all excited, but the worse part would be finding out that he commited adultery by raping his lady slaves. First it made me mad when the gov't decided to not post the names of the slaves he had offspring from. But then again, i don't think i would want to be related to him in that way or noticed that way.

I'm not sure it was ever said to be rape. You can't prove that. In fact, through Jeffersons writings, his true attitude toward slavery is obvious. But then again, I think many people here would have to agree that a president's personal life doesn't matter. Jefferson was the writer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the major framers of the U.S. Constitution. Jeffersonian Democracy has saved millions of people from tyranny. I think that makes up for any infidelity.
