Since when does being a Jew prevent someone from being political?

Jesus was a philosopher who didn't seem to support the governmental "democracy" of Rome.

Then again, almost all Jewish people in America consider themselves democratic...
by the way, noisegirl, this is purely a topic for fun. none of us are being that serious.

i don't know why everyone is suddenly calling Jesus Christ a Democrat or Communist he was a Jew! Jesus' followers came from different backgrounds and that is because Jesus treated everyone as an equal and did not leave anyone to feel like an outsider. He performed miracles, yes, and this is a sign of God's love being shown to people through Jesus. Remember waking the girl who was dead? This is not a sign of a democrat it shows Jesus was a strong believer in a religion and he wasn't afraid to make himself heard. Would a Democrat be crucified for many people who came after him like us? Jesus is a religious figure who made the Christian faith and teachings part of everyone else's lives and today thousands of people around the world believe in him. Would this be true of a Democrat or Communist?

I know I'm joining the conversation a bit late, but I can't help myself. quote: This is basphemy, Jesus had no political affiliation.
Sure, he wasn't registered with a party, but I can't believe you'd think Jesus had nothing to do with politics. I mean, his whole shtick was being against the corrupt institution (yes, redundancy is fun) -- are you saying that's not political? Love, Jenny

If he had to have a political party, I think he would start his own.

Stalinists and totaltarian governments take away rights, not 'communist governments' in general. .
Jesus was a practicing revolutionary hippie. Peace, love your neigbor, feed the poor, down with the establishment, respect diversity, etc. and so forth. A modern liberal revolutionary

Hmmm...I don't think he was attacking you. It seems to me that you're being a bit oversensitive. Actually, a lot of your posts recently have taken on an oversensitive and antagonistic tone. Realize that most of these topics, this one in specific, is nothing personal. He knew you weren't being serious... Joey even began his post saying that he knew this was a silly topic, and was just giving his opinion. Please don't think this is an attack on you.

I know this is just a silly topic, but Jesus could never be a Communist.
He gave us all free will to choose and Communist countries deny all rights, born or otherwise, to all people.
So therefore, Jesus would not be a Communist.
Oh for pete's sake! It's not like I was being serious, in fact the opposite, so can you all just stop attacking me about it?

He is the King though.

They're all talking about what his affiliation would be. You're not very perceptive, are you?

According to my research you are all crazy. Jesus had no political affiliation. ( is there really a point to this topic?)

I think he'd be more likely to go into Congress and start ripping people's 'R's and 'D's off...anybody remember the moneychangers? Yeah, Jesus kicked some *** there, baby.
