I live in TX and the TX legislature recently passed a new law that says were required to say the TX plege even though its clearly a violation of our constitution rights. Im planning on writing a letter to the government to try and get them to change their minds because it isnt fair! wut should i do???
I don't know what part of the TX pledge offends you because I don't know the TX plegde, but if you have that big of a problem with it just don't say the part that offends you. Just skip over it when it comes to that part. Now if you have a problem with the entire pledge then I would suggest that when you and your class are asked to say the pledge, stand up but don't say it. If your teacher asks you why you didn't say the pledge tell him or her that you are offended by it and that you don't want to say it just in a nice way. God Bless.

Sorry to break up the omg rage against the machine rawr!!!!! wankfest, but if your legislation's essentially the same as what was passed in Illinois a few years ago, you personally aren't required to say the pledge. Your school may be legally obligated to lead the student body in saying it once per day, but the students don't have to say it. You won't be breaking a law by remaining sitting, but since you live in Texas, maybe you should stand just so some good ol' boy doesn't feel compelled to have a little "discussion" with you after school.
Oh, and also, you'd be wasting your time by writing to the government. They don't care. So, what should you do, you ask? As little as you want to. Anything more is pointless.

There are some laws that are SO stupid that you just have to break them. Anyways, seeing as it seems like it's such a trivial law, do you really think you'd get arrested for not saying a bunch of words stringed together? And even if you are, you can take it to court-- and win-- or you have good reason to complain that people seem to care more about trivial things than things that really matter.
To leave you with words from The Famous Jett Jackson: 'Just because it's a law, doesn't make it right.'
u gotta like go somewhere really important or like stand right next 2 a police officer an wen ur supposed 2 say it b like,'IM NOT SAYIN THAT S*IT!' an then u'll get arrested an u can go 2 the supreme court an uve gotta win!
