I'm just a little bit confused with your question. Are you asking why people believe in creationism over evolution, or why people believe that the world is only 10,000 years old? I'm gonna answer the question about evolution vs. creation, if that's all right. Are you familiar of the scientific FACT of entropy? In case you're not, entropy is the tendancy of the universe to move from order to chaos. With entropy in mind, does evolution really make that much more sense, in light that simple creatures "develop" (mutate) into more complex forms of life. This seems to fly right in the face of entropy. Please don't say that because it's more complex, it must be more chaotic. That's not what I mean. Consider the human cell. It is an incredibly complex organism itself, and it is only a part of this HUGE network that compose a whole person. It's incredibly complex, but it's in order. Chaos would be examples where they don't all work together, like handicaps, cancer, etc. Does that make sense. As for the age of the world. God said so. That's the best explination I have. Playing the devil's advocate a bit, I imagine you're gonna say something scientific in an attempt to prove that the world is older. Let's look at this from the creationist point-of-view for a moment, all right? God was the creator. Can we agree in that? (Do you agree that is what creationists believe, even if you don't) For a God who created everything, isn't it possible that the world was created old? Couldn't an all powerful God create a rock that was one day, two months, or three million years old? What do you think? Watchman Eze 33
