The questions won't stop even if you maimed and torutred every member of the government who knew anything about the assassination. Even if they had solid, irrefutable proof that Lee Harvey Oswald was just a nutjob with a rifle who killed JFK, people would still speculate.

They made it 2039 to help ensure no members of the government who had classified information would still be in office when it was released. But it doesn't matter because the Pres. JFK Assassination Records Collection Act of 1992 says everything has to be released by 2017.

Even if they are released, there are way to many plausible theories to ever really gain traction. The mafia theory, the military theory, the oil industry theory, the LBJ Is An Asshole theory, the CIA Assassinates Everyone theory, the Lets Keep The Cold War Going theory, the Khrushchev theory, the crazy Illuminati theory, the Freemasons Are Fucking Crazy theory, the Sinatra theory, and the Israeli theory. Just to name a few. All plausible, none can be proven.

The only way to prove a crime would be if the government had covered up crime scene reports..which they did not, and only because they allowed traffic only minutes after the assassination, cleaned the car, and took JFK to Washington instead of a local coroner.

on the conspiracy I don't think the questions will stop till 2029 when the house appers come out, just that they classified as "no read till 2029" seems fishy and then gaping incongruitys in the Warren Commission like the "magic bullet theory where one bullet causes 7 wounds and comes out in perfect shape" also smell funny to me and the rest of the public that know about it.

The FOIA is easy. You submit a request form to the FBI, they'll send you whatever information they've got to release.

But you've got to understand...the Kennedy assassination is over 3,000 pages. Chances are you'll get the less than 200-page summary. AND, chances are things in it are things already released by the press. The FOIA really wasn't for us, it was for the press. Anything that's in those files, we already know.

To think that you can try and find a conspiracy so well-hidden for 40 years is preposterous. You reeeeeally underestimate our federal government. (Mulder's more brilliant than all of us and it took him 9 years to find out that we're all going to die.)

Besides, the JFK assassination is not about who (or whom) assassinated him. It's about the dream he symbolized for our country, and the progress he would've made. It's about the man himself, not the killer(s).
