i know these. my extended family has a long marine history. they'd kill me if i didn't. that first quote is actually a play off another quote from WWI.

1. colonal david m. shoup..and the atoll was Tarawa. "bloody betio" as it is sometimes known.

2. Korean war, 1950, Chosin Reservoir, and is it called the "Frozen" Reservoir? my uncle would kill me.

3. the revolutionary war, 1776, and the bahamas.

Okay guys welcome I gonna post a few for you to hunt on this time

The man destined to be the 22nd Commandant of The Marine Corps said this "Casaulities many; precent dead unkown; we are winning" while fighting for pacific atoll who was he, and what is the name of the atoll
(hint: atoll name starts with a T and ends with an A)

This fighting retreat is one of the most famous battles in Marine History. The general in command Major General Smith said in response to a reporters question during the fight "retreat, hell! We're just attcking in a diffrent direction!" Any one who was at this resivoir will mainly talk about the cold this has led to the nick name frozen....
What War, Where, and the Resivoir's name and nickname

What War, What Year and Were did the Marines conduct the first amphibous raid?

have fun with these!

The war of 1812 largely took part in New York, however in a last ditch attempt by the british to cause the American economy to crumble, blockaded the city of New Orleans, and landed a full battallion of soldiers there.

Andrew Jackson took his company to New Orleans and killed over 700 British soldiers while only loosing in the neighborhood of 8 killed and a dozen injured.

The Treaty of Ghent which formally ended the war was signed on Christmas eve in 1814... the battle for New Orleans occured on January 8th 1815.

I should add that the treaty was signed in England, and no one in the states knew about it till February.

this was a decisive victory for the united states against their enemy...but the treaty to end the war had already been delivered.

name the battle, the enemy, the commanding general, and the war.

this was a good one. ok, was the event the opening of japan and the subsequent treaty? if that's right, the commodore is matthew c. perry, and the flag is the US flag. and it happened...1853(when the US sailed to Japan)-1854(when they signed the treaty)?

You all had BETTER know this one, or you will be thrown out of the History Geek tent.

After this battle, the famous words "Vedi, Veni, Vici," were spoken by Julius Caeser

O of where dost thou hail, Celephanil, Celephanil? Why dost thou wander in Tengelwar great, why on the sea do you sail?
