Okay. Gregor Mendel. Father of Modern Genetics. His sister gave up her DOWRY to him so that he could go to "high school" (the equivalent of). And what does she get? A foot-note in science text books. I think that's a perfect display of familial love. Who thinks she deserves more credit? *raises hand*

I'm sure she got some kind of pride out of giving up her money to her brother who did all of this genetics experimenting and what not. She definitely deserves more credit though.

Anyone else think that she may have gotten more out of her brother going to school than she would if she had just kept the $$$? Just a thought, I don't know the answer myself...

well given he didn't use that education to do anything in relation to genetics (he figured it out gardening in a freakin monastary) so it sounds fair to me
