Okay, to discuss, express disgust and in other ways condemn Elizabeth Bathory. This is not an opinion. Anyone who thinks that Elizabeth Bathory was not a demon is insane. Not kidding. There is no second opinion. Elizabeth Bathory, for those who don't know, Elizabeth Bathory was a Countess of Hungary who liked to kill beautiful virginal women and bathe in and drink their blood, under the assumption that it would make her beautiful. She also enjoyed beating people because it was an amusement, and she liked to see their faces in pain. And yes, this could be called Eastern...but I think that Hungary's about the middle. I just wanna say that you shouldn't be telling people bull shit because if you researched Elizabeth properly you would know that her bathing in blood was a myth. There is no hard evidence to support it. I have read the trials of 1611 and it doesnt mention that she ever bathed in blood for her youth. She was only ever convicted for 80 counts of murder but there was a list of up to 600 victims that was kept in the countess's top draw and the list was in her handwriting but it was never used as evidence during the trials because they couldnt prove that all the victims were dead due to most of them being peasants. Sorry to be so forward but I am a strong believer in history not as much myth. And it frustrates me when young people are being taught the wrong things and believing it.

She eventually was locked in her room for the rest of her life, when a person higher in rank noticed that all these young women were dying.

A lot of high-ranking royal families were inbred. They felt it was the only way to keep the bloodlines pure. In radical situations, anyway. Eventually, they learned from it.
There should definitely be a movie based on this woman.

At first she just used servants. Then she abducted peasant girls. Eventually, she started a finishing school for noble girls, and sent letters to their parents that they had died.

It's also said that Elizabeth's family was inbred, which is believed to be the culprit for the many psychotic diorders many of them had.

She was hemophiliac. Hemophilia's not the love of blood, it's the access of blood. It's a congenital clotting disorder, X-linked, recessive, almost always affecting boys.

Exactly. I mean, that kind of intense self-absorption must've been WICKED to be around, y'know? If I was one of her guards, I would've made such detailed accounts of what happened, because that must've been so horrendous to see. I would've wanted people to know.

You might want a mask. Maybe if she can't tell whether you're beautiful or not, you'd be safe. Okay, if cool is in the interesting sense, that's a little more soothing. If anyone admired her, I'd be scared. I guess she's a little interesting, but I find her frightening, and I marvel that anyone could be so sadistic, morbid, macabre and self-centered.

Nah, cool just really means interesting. I don't admire her, either, but I find her fascinating. She's another person I'm going to visit (in armor, hopefully) in my time machine I have yet to build.

Cool...doesn't that mean that you admire her? That's what I've always thought saying someone was cool meant. Vlad the Impaler was also disgusting though.

Yes, I didn't mean to stress that she drank blood more than bathed in it. But she did. And she was in fact, the original idea for vampires. Her and Vlad the Impaler. Hydrok, she's creepy. You can't tell me that you admire her. And Euterpe, she might be fun to research, but she was still a demon. Personally, she just creeps me out. All those games about Bloody Mary's ghost, I just think that it would be creepy if Elzabeth Bathory's ghost appeared.

One of my FAV historical figures. She's so much fun to research. And it's not so much that she drank blood (a lot)..it's that she drained young maidens and *bathed* in it. Not so much vampiric as it is hemophiliac. She did drink a bit, but not nearly as much as she bathed in.
