I am for nuclear power, I really am. There will be people here who are against me, because nuclear power is damaging to the environment, but in the UK, where I come from, 30% of the power comes from nuclear power. In France, it's 70%. There is very damaging effects, e.g Chernobyl, but that occured through human error, it could have been prevented. Who else is with me?

You still have radioactive waste. That's not all that clean...
And how is nuclear energy cleaner than wind or solar?

Oh sorry, oil, and coal dont cause nearly as much waste and use resources. Roll Eyes

I wish they'd get on with making fusion a viable possibility.

As am I. Although every post I make is simply 'playing around'. Anything else would be too serious.

Sorry for multiple posts...but here I go...

I am against Nuclear power (one, our President can't say it right, so there must be something wrong with it). It is dangerous and I said this in the terrorism boards. Disasters (sp?) including a meltdown or terrorism could kill hundreds of thousands of people. Personally, I know of Indian Point in New York. It is located right on the source of NYC's water! It is a major target, just like all other plants. It is also not safe due to health reasons, like cancer. Ucca Mountains. Thats where they want to store the toxic spent fuel rods. Transporting them will be dangerous and expensive.

We have plenty of oil. At least enough for the next fifty years I assure you. Saudi Arabia itself will last quite a bit longer than that as far as oil goes.
