And your logic behind this is what?

Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

Then one could also say, veganlord, anyone who regards your post obviously doesn't care about their IQ level dropping tremendously.

Well to me, anyone who eats meat obviously doesn't care about animals. So, yes I am 'judging' you based on that. I dislike the word judgement, but I cannot rightly say someone who eats meat is a caring person, at least not about animals anyway.

You're pathetic. You're judging us based on the sole fact that we eat meat. Maybe you should explore the rest of the boards and then make a decision about how caring we are? Or does exercising our ability to consume meat products limit that?

No, I will not deal with it. A cow can think and feel, just like a human, thus it has a right to live. It's people like you that make people like me question the logic of human beings and their purpose. I do not understand how anyone could eat an animal, and I never will. I thought people on these boards actually cared but I suppose not. Frown

To put it bluntly, I am a self-aware human. A cow is not. Therefore I have no compunctions about eating one between two pieces of bread with a light covering of barbeque sauce.

Deal with it.

Maybe your taste buds are mere ones. mine are quite important to me. So are my leather covered feet, arms, and hands, my fur hatted head and my leather suv interior.

The point of this thread is what? Confused I personally think eating beef is horrible. Cows have the right to live. If you say you eat them b/c it tastes good then you are a selfish person. An animals life is not worth mere tastebuds.

mostly i've gotta say i'm just confused as to what the point of the thread is. to get a rise outta people or prove apoint or what? I don't think it's bad to eat meat but I'd have to say if you can withstand all the pressure and avoid it, you should be proud of yourself, it's hard.

Anyways, that was a bit off subject. Ok, maybe a lot. Back to beef. I don't actually like it, it just grosses me out. The only thing it's good in is taco's i think. I'm not sure why, it just disgusts me. Then again it might have something to do with the fighting for my rights as a vegetarian thing......you know, that might have something to do with it.... Razz

Do they not cook them enough? 'Cause maybe your stomach is sensitive to foods that are too undercooked. (Grilled chicken is more likely to be cooked more thoroughly because of the large chance of salmonella.)

Meats I've been able to eat more recently since my move-in to a college cafeteria... :

Grilled Chicken
Eggs
Cold cuts, low in salt (not bologna, salami, etc.)

That's about it. I can't have hamburgers, hot dogs, fish, pork or other red meats (yes I know what a red meat it) because of the way they cook them or something. I don't know, it just makes me really, really sick.

I'm having spaghettios, pears, and broccoli. Meat free. Yum yum. . .

That was fun. Anyways, I still don't care whether you eat it or not. Its just fun to pick.

Alright, I was told I needed to weigh in on this subject since I don't eat red meat and haven't for 7 years. I'm not saying anyone is right over another, just that it's my personal belief that humanity has taken the animals it eats for granted. I don't think there is anything wrong with killing animals for food, it's been going on since the dawn of time. I do however believe it's been taken to such an extreme with the mis-treatment of animals and the geneticaly enhanced animals, that I can't in good concience eat meat feeling that the animal that gave it to me was given the respect it deserves. I was a full blown vegitarian for two years, after which I began eating farm raised chicken and turkey. I never took up eating red meat again for health reasons. So, there is my two cent, take what you will. Big Grin

Oh, lay off the whole "there are more things important" argument.

Yea, yea, I know that was a desperate grasp at a straw I couldn't quite reach. We all have moments like that, though, right? Wink

Yes, it would be more humane (therefore better), but if you want to argue with someone over the humanity of killing animals, you might want to find someone else. I don't believe animals should be raised in tiny stalls, but then again I'm not very passionate about it either.

And no its not any worse. I believe the best way to get meat is to have it organically raised, but not everyone lives near areas with farms.

Oh, lay off the whole "there are more things important" argument. The scientists who came up with this stuff do this for a living. There is nothing else they are qualified to do. Saving the world is up to other people, not laboratory scientists.

But what I was asking was, is lab-grown meat any worse than meat from a cow that was slaughtered in an "inhumane" way?

Hahaha. . .

I would not eat meat if it was grown in a lab, either. I wouldn't change my entire diet just because someone decided to grow meat in a lab. First of all, I think thats gross, and second, there are things that need more attention than lab-grown meat.
