Ok so like i was wondering what would happen if we detonate a high power device such as a very large explocive device (non radadiation) into the eye of a hurricane. If it is strong enough, i would think that maybe everything about the hurricane would just go all out of order and maybe stop if it is kinda torn apart from the chaos of the explosion?
I bet it would have to be a very large explosion like a nuclear but that obviously would cause radadiation problems and damage to the ocean.. maybe even a tusanmi but maybe if its high enough in the sky? I dont know.. but what do you all think?

Oh wait I got it... I know how to take away everything that has to do with weather... get rid of the sun.

Well there's an easy way to solve that. Simply get rid of the pesky 23.5 degree tilt in the Earth's axis and melt the polar ice caps. Although we'd also need to account for the uneven land mass distribution between the north and south hemispheres...

And then the fact that earth is on an ellipse and is not the same distance from the sun at all times
and that the sun doesn't heat the poles as much as it does the equator even if you did take away the tilt.

Notwithstanding feasibility of such an enormous task, would the benefit of stopping hurricanes outweigh the potential long term disaster?

As disastrous as hurricanes may be, I bet they play an important role in nature. Human attempts at alterning the natural environment to their own ends often ends up disastrous. The rapidly disappearing Aral Sea (and surrounding ecosystems) in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has river dams largely to blame. Large-scale agriculture requires massive land manipulation, which also has detriment to the environment (Much soil from Bangladesh has washed away over the years due to intense agriculture, and an island in the Bay of Bengal from these eroded deposits is expected to surface soon). I cannot fathom what would happen if we tried to DIRECTLY alter a large weather process...

Well, I got it as a bulletin, so I don't think I can link to it. Here's a try, anyway: http://bulletin.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bullet...4356F839382844595843

It would be pretty funny if Dubya considered hurricanes as terrorists/anti-american forces, included the Gulf of Mexico in the Axis of Evil, and the next time we had a hurricane, sent 50 fighter jets to bomb the hell out of it. That would make such a cool/funny dogfight.

Sidenote: It'd also be funny if he blamed hurricane Katrina on Storm from the X-Men.
