Sorry aff but you got the PETA thing a little wrong, it's People for the Eating of Tastey Animals. 'Cause the other version is People "for the" Protection... sorry but I have to have these things just right. Razz

I always love the "still alive" things. My dad is a trapper so I know for a fact that you can't skin something while it's still alive. Not a happening thing.

I'm all for animal rights, I think they should be made to suffer as little as possible. But I also think that being on the top of the food chain has it's benefits, mainly that you can eat the things below you.

PETA = People Eating Tastey Animals

Honestly, animals get eaten...It happens in nature, how is it any different than when we eat animals? Sure animals get treated poorly and I agree that its wrong, but if you think about it, they're just gonna be killed anyway?

Shut up, hippie. Animal suffering makes the meat taste better.

*sigh* EG, sometimes you make me smile.

That being said, sure animals are being mistreated, unfortunatly that part of our society, Kindof impossible to fix. Personally I think we should be concerned about the social problems that affect humans before we worry about animals.

I mean, I'm not for animal cruetly, but really, where are our priorities.

And btw - animalactivist. YOU try stringing a live cow up by its legs, NOT going to happen, and if they actually do that, they'd kill the animal as fast as they could.

when i first began researching what i was eating, i found the most horrific, gory pictures of my 'meats' i couldnt bare to eat any again. I found a picture of the inside of a slaughter house, where they had tied up a cow from the cieling by its legs, WHILE STILL ALIVE. there was a man stnading near the cow's head with a huge meat cleaver, slowly shopping away at the cow's neck. i didnt want this to effect my eatin habits, but whenever beef has placed in front of me, i had that image flashing in my head. i thought, ' a cow went through the suffering of being hung by its toes, blood rushing to its head, and having its neck sliced open just so i can eat something i could live without.' i didnt want to thikn about it anymore becaus ei knew what i was about to eat, had the most bloody, inhumane death i could imagine.

wow. I'm for animal rights but honestly, the animals aren't treated as badly as thry could be. When I was eight or something I saw some video of people breaking in an elephant. They tied it down and whipped it. That was to bring it down mentally then they came out with other stuff and I couldn't watch anymore.

ya, I don't like how most animals are treated, but I still eat meat...I'm trying to eat less though, but it's sooooo hard...I'm not a big chicken or pork or anything else eater, but beef! oh my goodness. steak, cheeseburgers, etc. yum! But I admire vegetarians SO much, since about the beginning of May, I have been eating LESS meat than usual and more veggies/fruits, so I'm proud of myself...

I prefer southern BBQ baby back ribs over chicken. If I could eat them for the rest of my life, I'd die a happy girl.

I have been a vegetarian for a couple years and I became one because I don’t like the way animals are treated. I have wrote papers about how animals are treated in factory farms and the way I think they should be treated. I completely agree with every thing you said. Big Grin
