I recently received an email with a link to site where you can buy bonsai kittens.
I went to this site, and i was appalled and disgusted. If you are a cat lover or are easily disgusted by animal cruelty, do NOT click on the link above.

I think that this "tradition" is just plain cruel and mean. These kittens never get to walk, never get to run around, they never get the chance to jump on furniture or to chance a ball of string. Cats were not made to be a decoration sitting on someones mantle. They were not made to be put in jars and left there for the rest of their life.

I can't see why so many people think that this is great. On the website, there is a link to its guest book. So many people have written to the webmaster saying how great it is. Sometimes I wonder how many emails this person gets on how cruel it is and how can he/she continue to do this. You can see pictures and information on the site. If the link above doesn't work, go to www.bonsaikitten.com

My uncle has an obsession with snopes. Big Grin It gets rather annoying sometimes.

This has been going on for...years. It's always been false. I believed it the first time around, when I was like...ten for about...five minutes. Then I thought, "would this actually work?"

thats good that this is false...I personally hate cats, but thats cruel and unusual punishment if people were actually doing that to kittens...

Bonsai kittens are the product of a good photo-editing software and is definitely a hoax, check it out:

Yeah, I didn't click on the link. I'm already about to be sick just reading what others have wrote. I love cats, especially kittens. Like Doctor, I'm usually not much for animal rights. But this is crazy. These people should be locked up.

That's actually kind of funny, in a bad way. It all makes me wonder if that site is completely satirical...especially the bit about using it as furniture...

I've never heard of bonsai kittens, which all the more reinforces my opinion that it's all a farce. I honestly don't see how a living creature could survive being superglued inside a glass container. Perhaps it does work, but I simply don't understand. Ah well.

Exactly. I don't see the point of this, except to disgust people.

What the **** is that?

That's insane. I usually don't give a flying **** about animal rights, but that's just damn evil.
