So I was driving to work today and heard something interesting on the radio. Turns out the Bush administration 'hid' photos of the shrinking Artic from the public. These pictures were just released by our new administration and, wow, what a shocker, our poles are melting. We have lost, in the past decade, one million square kilometers of ice sheets. Greenpeace scientists estimate that by the summer of 2040, the poles will vanish entirely. So, wonderful, goodbye greenland, so long polar bears. What can we do (if we can do anything at all) about this. Well, turns out the US is responsible for 25% of the greenhouse gases emitted. Maybe we should listen to Obama and his progressive, green policies or else face a very miserable and hot world. Here's a link, woop. Greenpeace

I don't get it either. Canvas bags are more durable, they're reusable, they're clearly better for the environment. I think people are just lazy and can't be bothered to keep canvas bags in their cars. It's ridonk. I keep a couple hanging on my front door so if I'm going out to the store, I'll remember to bring them. I think we should absolutely start charging people to use plastic at the stores-- even if it adds up to an extra dollar or two each trip, people might start being more aware.

I don't see why people can't just have canvas bags. I mean they cost two dollars and they're huge. Plus, I always hated having excess plastic bags lying around.

Wow, that's disturbing. I keep hoping that one of these warnings will finally sink in with all the global warming naysayers. The bottom line is we can't keep going on like this and expecting that the Earth will continue to provide as we drain it of all its natural resources. I think we need some pretty strong reform in terms of car emissions standards and public transportation options and... Also, sort of related, have you seen how Seattle has started charging people for plastic bags at stores and the plastics industry is spending a ton of money trying to fight it? http://www.npr.org/templates/s...Id=111662657&ps=cprsThey do this in a lot of European countries, and I think it's a damn good way to motivate people to bring their own bags.

Very productive, way to save yn, lol. We could eventually do a 'cash for gas users,' like the cash for clunkers program, except everyone gets a rebate for turning in their gas powered car for a hybrid.

I love how no one cares that our earth is going to be drastically different in a couple decades. Awesome. Guess people care more about hating their moms and how teenage guys suck.
