If there are no superior species, then why do some go extinct while others thrive?
The goal of life is to live and spread. Humans have done that VERY effectively. And I've just read an article stating how humanity might be making more of an impact on the surface of our planet than glaciation. Aside from a few insects and bacteria, we're the most prolific and thriving species on this planet. And soon to be others.

I'd say that makes us superior.

I think everyone should care for the environment. I think not everyone cares but everyone should. Because the environment surrounds us. It is where we live, where we do all kinds of stuff plus the nature all around us so that we treat the environment with care and tell everyone we know to at least clean up their surroundings.

That doesn't mean you're superior. Every animal has an attribute that helps them survive. Ours is intelligence. Other animals are stronger or faster than us, some can fly, but that doesn't make them better than us. There is no such thing as a superior species.

i didn't mean that. i meant like how some people say we don't need certain animals on earth because they don't do anything for it, but actually, they do. and i agree with you too.

Of course it would be great, but that's like asking for world peace.

Not everyone cares. Or people care but they don't do anything about it. You can't pressure people to stop throwing garbage on the ground, or out the window. You can't pressure the president to choose the cars that don't pollute and are cheaper.

Some people think there are more important issues like actually trying to keep the human race around long enough to see Mars.

Sure. It'd be absolutely fantastic. Unrealistic, but fantastic.

It'd also be great if everyone cared about animals. Shoot, not everyone even cares about their fellow humans. Yeah, it's not happening any time soon. Good thought though?
