Depends on who paid for the wedding. And dogs are indeed property. They're sold and bought.

My dog is my property. I reserve the right to treat it as i want. I am the owner of my dog, not the guardian of it.

I totally agree with Slewinca, I mean to being the most intelligent race on the planet shouldn't mean that we should be using that intelligence to figure out the best ways to hurt innocents, whether its animals, children, or whatever. It's like the quote hubbabaloo posted, "I give you yourselves," said the strong voice of Aslan, "I give to you forever the land of Narnia. I give you the woods, the fruits, the rivers. I give you the stars and I give you myslef. The Dumb Beasts whom I have not chosen are yours also. Treat them gently and cherish them but do not go back to their ways lest you cease to be Talking Beasts..." Humans are smart enough to know that what we're doing is cruel so why should we do it? By the way, everyone who keeps posting that they don't care is being ridiculous, if you don't care, DON'T POST ABOUT IT!! No one wants to hear about why you don't care and if there are more important things to be doing, then go do them and stop wasting everyone's time. There's no point, you're just wasting your own time and p***ing off everyone who does care.

I can see both sides of this topic, it's really controversial. But saying that, I'm actually an animal issues and rights freak so now I'm going to specify on one side. (wow i can really make myself sounds smart when i want to!) Animals are living creatures too and they can feel, but they can't always defend themselves. We're animals too, you know, we just happen to be lucky enough to be the ones that are more evolved. Rock on ppl! http://www.live2sing.piczo.com

I won't give up meat simply because a few people think animals deserve the red carpet treatment. And coming up with hypothetical "put yourself in their shoes" situations won't do you any good. You know as well as I do that things like that will never happen.

People abusers and animal abusers deserve the same punishment! JUST because we think we are far more superior or wutev, doesn't mean we can treat them poorly! STAND FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS

It's so hard to see you put it this way...that just makes you HEARTLESS because it's just like when you see your love ones gets beaten up like that. BUt GUESS WHAT? Animals are helpless no matter how stronge they are. And imagine when you born you get NOTHING, then next day you see your family gets slaughter brutally, then later on they torture you and eat you. OH I BET THAT SOUNDS GREAT TO YOU? Respect animals.

I'm personally not vegetarian, but at times I do see quite crudely why many people choose to be.... And there si bound to be a way to test make-up and such without submitting animals to suffer the consequences if an experiment goes wrong.....But mostly, the majority of domestic abuse to animals needs to be eliminated by making the people see the cruelty of doing such things to animals...I mean, can humans be so stupid as to treat animals as inanimate things. Ironically, they can.... Agreeing with greenleaf771, how can all those people think it's right?

But do you not see how, with or without the bible, beating animals or testing chemical bug sprays on them is cruel? Yes, we can eat the animals. Yes, we can raise them in facilities that mistreat them. Yes, we can wear make-up. Yes, we can test it on amimals beforehand to find out whether its dangerous or not. Yes to all of these. But do you honestly think this is right?

Animal rights are implied in the Bible. Or at least, I as a heretical pagan think it is. If you read Genesis, doesn't it say we are stewards here to care for the earth and the animals? If it does, surely that doesn't mean skinning them alive or something equally barbaric and sickening.

Um, fetuses can feel. At around 8 weeks they begin to develop sophisticated nerve endings. But their lungs are very underdeveloped so they can't really cry when you chop them up and throw them in the garbage.

PLEASE! Not another abortion thread. Okay, I agree that it's an important issue, but really...in a thread titled "Animal Rights." Okay, animal rights are an important thing, but not the most important thing I can think of. Okay. Abortion discussion closed. End.

Well abortions are constitutional. So I guess animals.
