As for animal rights, I'm not a vegetarian by any means, so I don't think we should stop killing them all together, but I think they should have some rights. The way some livestock is treated in this country is disgusting, packed too closely together with no regard for how the animals feel about their situation.
The Bill of Rights was written because people were discontent with not having their rights protected. I think animals are very discontent, just look at the fight they put up when stuffed into close quarters, but can they write that down on paper and explain exactly their disputes with us? No. But we can observe and make their lives as comfortable as possible.

I agree with marine16. when women go through with abortions they are deniying that unborn child the right to life. They didn't do anything to the women, but they were killed anyways. is that really fair? No.

I suggest that we take the advice of a very good writer. C.S. Lewis. Even though he was a Christian, will you agree that he was a great man?

After all, we are just animals that are intelligent, so we should treat them kindly, however, they are for our use and we own them. We are more intelligent, so we have the right to dominate them, however, we cannot treat them ill, or we go to animal ways.
