Youth tend to be more liberal because they aren't set in their ways. Older people usually don't want things to change because they're used to how things are. There are exceptions ofcourse.

I dunno, at my school we had a mock election and more people voted for Nader than voted for Kerry...I think Kerry only got like 17 percent of votes...
The school newspaper did a mock election in my school, too. Bush got 118, Kerry for 104, and Nadar got 12 or something.
I live in a very conservative part of NY though so that could have had something to do with it.

Youth are generally liberal.
That reminds me of a quote. I don't remember exactly how it went but it was something like "If you're 18 and conservative, you're heartless. If you're 38 and liberal, you're brainless."

This is most likely not true, Hydrok. You cannot make such a claim when you don't even know what percent voted for Bush (Conservative). Considering the fact that only 17% voted for Kerry, you can pretty much assume that Bush got the highest percent of votes (probably even over 50%), which agrees with Meagan's disagreement about the claim that most youth are liberal. However, this is only one school, so whichever way the results leaned towards, it is still not a reliable source. But, the point is that you were being unreasonable with your absolute claim.

No I wasnt... she said it like she was trying to prove that kids wern't liberal because they voted for nader not Kerry.

Quit trying to help her weasle out of this.

Like Hydrok said, the green party is more left leaning than democrats. High schoolers also tend to like Nader because he wants to legalize pot.

Bushism of the day:
"One of the most meaningful things that's happened to me since I've been the governor — the president — governor — president. Oops. Ex-governor. I went to Bethesda Naval Hospital to give a fellow a Purple Heart, and at the same moment I watched him—get a Purple Heart for action in Iraq — and at that same — right after I gave him the Purple Heart, he was sworn in as a citizen of the United States — a Mexican citizen, now a United States citizen." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Jan. 9, 2004

Who cares you are distracting from meagans lesson here... which is to do your homework when you debate me... because while I might not be going to Bob Jones university... all the good grades in the world doesn't mean your smart. For example, our valedictorian asked in our PIG class if Kerry was a democrat or republican... during the heat of the primary season.

Bella, she already said that she is cinderella. I don't get your point of saying she responded to someone who said something to cinderella, ofcourse she did, she is cinderella.

The "I dunno" is a dissagreement with the statement "Youth are generally liberal"

She then goes on to say that MORE people voted for Nader than Kerry, which essencially disproves her dissagreement. Because most people know that Nader is by far more liberal than Kerry
