quote: Nobody is able to "feel" any warming that has gone on, and last years spat of hurricanes had nothing to do with global warming. That's all.
Oh yeah, the scientists worlwide are confused. They're making all this up so that we'll pay more for solar panels. Seriously, it's obvious that the environmental living conditions of the world are still significantly normal and global warming isn't going to kill us off overnight. But thinking "Nah. We're cool. Pollution, etc. is made up to corrupt the masses!" just to seperate yourself from most people's easily influenced beliefs isn't any better than being paranoid. quote: Hardly anybody actually has looked at the science. Yeah, most people normally don't care to educate themselves about that, unfortunately. But that doesn't mean that scientists haven't. I wouldn't look to everyday people for earth science, anyway. I'd look to unbiased sources like here. quote: And of those who claim to have looked, most don't actually understand it, or don't know what the hell they're talking about. I totally agree with you there. Like yoga, recycling and other hippy-ish values can become trends. But from which reputable scientific source have you heard that global warming is an illusion?

Don't tell me you're one of those who "doesn't believe" in global warming...
I'm a rational person who has some education in climate history and science. Nobody is able to "feel" any warming that has gone on, and last years spat of hurricanes had nothing to do with global warming. That's all. All I "don't believe in" is jumping on a bandwagon. And that's what most people are doing, jumping on the "Oh Noes Global Warming!" bandwagon. Hardly anybody actually has looked at the science. And of those who claim to have looked, most don't actually understand it, or don't know what the hell they're talking about.

The reason behind glbal warming is the global decline in priates for more on this theory check out The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster through google

quote: So why are people so reluctant to a) believe b) care and c) take action? It's your own butts you're saving.
Because people are greedy. That's all there is to it. Why take care of something that won't backfire during their lifetime if they can benefit from it now? quote: The whole global warming thing really scares me...just the fact that tomorrow the world could come to an end or something. The world can end in many situations not involving global warming. The greenhouse effect just gives us a very flexible date of when we can expect things like acid rain, etc. and ultimately a non-lifesupporting environment.

The whole global warming thing really scares me...just the fact that tomorrow the world could come to an end or something. I just think people don't want to believe what they know is the truth, so they just ignore it and hope it will go away.
The only things we can hold true to ourselves are our own beliefs.
