The temperature itself is the least of our worries. The problem is how even slight changes in global temperature can wreak havoc on ocean currents and weather patterns.
For instance, if temperatures get too warm, the ice caps will begin to slowly melt, sending cold water into the ocean. This influx of cold water throws off currents like the Gulf Stream, which is what makes the climate in the Northern Hemisphere so temperate. Without the Gulf Stream, the Northern Hemisphere will begin to freeze over.
Of course, that's just a hypothetical situation, but it is true that everything is connected. We won't die from heat stroke, but we could die from massive hurricanes spawned by rising temperatures.
I didn't say you were a liberal EG but i assumed you were an environmentalist because of the name and the things you said and beleive. And I knew that global warming was a natural cycle, that's what i've been trying to tell everybody. I doubt it will kill us anyway, the the temp isn't high enough right now and the temp go's really slow anyway. what is it? .6 of a degree a century? besides the global cooling will cool the earth back down anyway just like the 60's, in fact people were worrying about the world having a second ice age in those years. By the way, why are you saying that i'm promoting environmentalism? i'm a conservative. and i'm mostly mad at Green Peace and Algore, the "environmentalists" who are actually socialists. Actually true, earths temprature drops and goes up according to solar activity and volcanic euruptions. (Decreased solar activity + more eruptions drops the temp and increased solar activity with decreased eruptions = temp increase.)

That's why they invented the alternator. While the gasoline engine of a hybrid is running, it recharges the batteries in transit, leaving them charged for when the electric motor runs. Fully electric cars, on the other hand, will run out of juice without a good charging, but we're not talking about them, are we? (Well, I'm not talking about them. Can't speak for anyone else.)

The term "protectors" implies that we were appointed to the task. Considering we're only a few steps above other animal life, I highly doubt we were put here on purpose.
Also, the best description of the human species is "parasite". We take from the Earth without giving back. It's an unequal symbiosis (well, not quite symbiosis, since the Earth isn't a single living organism). It should be noted, however, that parasites aren't inherently bad. They don't aim to destroy. They often have that effect because they take without giving.

Besides it may be able to drive fast like she said on a fully charged battery, but sadly, with electricity, as power given by the battery goes down your car can't run as fast. But a machine running on gas can run on the fumes after the gas is gone for at least a few minutes. also by the way, I'm not paranoid. I have ADHD so half the time i don't know what mood I sound like in typing. and for bringing up mythbusters, I'm random so get used to it.

If we all die, forests have a chance to regrow and endangered animal species have a chance to repopulate their habitat, without our interference.
That sort of thing happens all the time in nature. Heck, we wouldn't even have to die out completely. For instance, in the absence of a predatory species, a prey species will flourish, since there is nothing to attack and eat it. When a predator species is introduced, it will eat all the prey. When they prey species is diminished, the predatory species has nothing to eat, and they will begin to die out, thus allowing any remaining members of the prey species to repopulate the species, providing more food for the predators. Nature has lots of cycles like that. Some group will always benefit, even if other groups suffer horribly.

Since when has being slow been a bad thing? Also, you keep on complaining about the "extra materials" and whatnot, but you neglect to look at what's not being used: gasoline. Yes, hybrids have an electric motor that's only used part of the time, but because of that, they use less gasoline than a standard internal combustion engine, which runs constantly. The environmental benefit is in that. Less gasoline used means less petroleum oil that needs to be drilled from the ground and converted (through a long and rather expensive process) into gasoline.
Of course, this is all a bit moot considering that hybrid cars don't have that much extra material. Get this: every single car has an electric motor. It's called the starter motor. Conventional cars only use it to start internal combustion (otherwise called ignition; it happens when you turn your key). Once the combustion begins, the starter motor turns off. Hybrid cars, on the other hand, use their electric motor when idling, when the internal combustion engine stops. When the accelerator pedal is pressed, the internal combustion starts up again and the electric motor shuts off.
Of course, the motors used in conventional cars aren't exactly the same as those used in hybrids, and hybrids do tend to have more batteries (to hold power for the motor), but the added material in hybrids isn't that much compared to a conventional car, and hybrids often cut down on other materials (the Prius, for instance, uses aluminum instead of steel for parts like the hood and hatch). It's worth noting that a Prius weighs about 2890 pounds, average for a car of its class. Thus, the comparison to lugging an ATV around on your back doesn't work so well, unless the ATV weighed, oh, nothing.

Lucky for me, I caught a few minutes of a TV show that was explaining electric cars yesterday. It may have been on the History Channel. They mentioned one car that could go over 200 miles fully charged. And cost only $3 to recharge it. Three dollars worth of electricity is not a lot of energy at all.

As an avid watcher of Mythbusters, I know for a fact that that is bullshit. I hope you realize that most of the "products" they test are gadgets they made with instructions they found off the internet. No companies involved. Just crazy conspiracy theorists that are probably pissed at them. And most of the Myths they test are very politically neutral. Such as... All of them.

Anyway, back to Global Warming. Even if it did exist (which it probably doesn't), The Earth is not a fragile child with brittle bones. It's a force far more powerful than we are, and it can fix itself. If we all die in the Earth's healing process, so what?

While they are in any mode while driving they waste more energy or gas because they have this extra motor or engine they don't need. it's extra weight. it's like trying to go biking with an atv strapped to the back, it's useless to take and too heavy to carry. So, no. your wrong because the hybrid creates more problems than it solves.
And don't even try asking Mythbusters, they lie sometimes anyways. sometimes as propaganda for the companies that make the stuff they test, or for their socialist/liberal/communist director that tells them what to do. or just to entertain an audience. but still, they're still lies. for one example, hypnotism. hypnotism was once used on two jocks to make them think they were both "Tinkerbell King of the Faeries." In fact these jocks would both argue over which one was the pansy. apparently, in school, the teachers had to separate them by soundproof cages. and i'm pretty sure those jocks wouldn't want to do that throughout high school, even though they did. so i know people can be hypnotized into something they don't want to do.

They need one engine and a motor. The engine uses gas while the motor runs on electricity (provided by a battery). In the long run, the hybrid is better because less gasoline is used over the lifetime of the car, even if more material is used to build it (and I doubt a Prius uses more material than a Hummer, anyways).
