Global warming is, in part, a natural thing. But the climate won't go back to how it was that quickly. If you look at historical climate shifts, they tend to be rather drastic and on the order of decades in length.

Don't downplay the danger of climate change just because it's "natural." Nature can be violent all on its own.

Global warming is a normal cycle, caused by the sun!? Sure, the energy and heat from the sun keep us nice and toasty on the hot summer days, but the gasses which only trap that heat, where do they come from?

You would have to be completely ignorant to state that neither polar bears, penguins, or humans are in danger, or just in complete denial of that fact, yes, the fact, that global warming is real.

Even if global warming is not caused by humans, we are still accelerating the process.

If you just let the idea of global warming fly past your mind, without taking a second to think about the possible outcomes, then you must want to die, or are just a complete fool.

The earth is warming, ice is melting, seas are rising, land is vanishing, and we have to stop it. No amount of time will help us in our current situation, only a well thought-out plan of action to reduce emmisions, and provide people around the globe with a clean source of energy.

Yeah I don't believe Micheal Moore said he hated America. If you're gonna quote people at least do it right. Also it's really hard to get people to understand global warming. Either they are too ignorant or arrogant to understand what can happen to this world. But then again we don't need everyone to help change the way we live. If we all do things to lower our emissions we can help w/o the help of all those other people who don't live in reality. Whether it's suing less toilet paper, taking shorter showers, or changing your lightbulbs. We can help pick up the slack from those people who are too lazy to take those steps. People don't respond well to lectures. So those people just watch and learn.

After browsing through all the replies to this thread, heres what I have to say...its my own opinion, so believe it/hate it in anyway you want, this is just what I think:

Global Warming is the reality, like "Cybele" said. Many skeptics are out there trying to prove that humans are not the cause of this warming, and that blaming factories and cars is just insane. But thats the point, all that they are trying to prove is that HUMANS are not causing it.

GLOBAL WARMING IS STILL HAPPENING!!! Whether humans are the cause or not, we MUST take action against it. Anyone who lives on the coast will be under many feet of water when all of those glaciers melt...even if humans are not the main cause of global warming!

Deforestation, carbon dioxide emmisions, dirty energy...our lives are full of these contributers to global warming..global warming is caused by the green house effect. The greenhouse effect, in itself, is necessary to keep the earth safe and able to sustain life, however, add in the billions of tons of carbon dioxide emmited by humans each year, and you get a greenhouse effect which is so strong, it is doing damage.

Denying the facts, and just pretending that global warming is not happening is the true insanity occuring. Would you rather take action and stop it from happening, even if you don't think global warming is real, or not do anything in the first place, and find out 15 years later that you were wrong, global warming was real, and now there's nothing you can do about it. I think most people would agree the safe bet is to take action, because then at least we are ready....

WOW i am beyond confused right now and in a way yes yes we do. Cars we drive. And when the ev came around it was and could like solar powered. And we wouldnt be emitting so much stuff we put in the sky by driving cars. But al the millionares would be put out of business so they got rid of it. I know that my last post says that global warming is on mars, this is true. It may be just another planet, however i forgot to tell all of you why i brought up the subject.

with global warming on mars, scientists know that global warming is not caused by humans. there are no humans on mars, that means there are no cars or factories that can put these "greenhouse gasses" into the atmosphere. you may think that the gasses could have come from the thrusters of the landing probes for the land rovers, but your wrong because those things don't put out enough of that stuff to make this kind of catastrophe. Not even a small one so no, global warming is not caused by humans whatsoever. global warming is caused by the sun.
ps: Oh and by the way, Liang no offense, but Algore is an idiot. He was a useful idiot, what would you expect from an environmental democratic vice-president who supports Greenpeace?

WOW, you sure do point out the obvious. Of course I know I'm going to eventually die. Whether it's from old age or a disease or a car accident. When it's preventable I sure would like to do that. Preventing myself from dying is much better. And global warming wich can be prevented or in this case controlled we can live a little longer. But then again some don't want to live longer but that's not really my problem. So stop antagonizing me cause it's getting old. Or stop with the same old same old. Come up with stuff thats not revolved around sarcasm.


Ahh I know In the future I will end up "eating those words" but for what's it's worth (and believe me it's worth something) I'll take my chances.

And why are you using the evidence of global warming on other planets as support for humans not being the cause of global warming? It's another god damn planet!!!

anyways though, I don't believe it's our fault. Axis shift due to the periodic gravitational field fluctuations in our galaxy... that's what it is. The greenhouse effect bases its whole theory on a greenhouse and a greenhouse doesnt even work the same way that people say the Earth is heating up because of humans.
