This topic is one of my favorite to debate for it is so heavily misinterpreted by millions today (thanks to the media). We all have seen the dude or dudet on TV whether he/she's a News Anchor, a "scientist" or a climatologis of some kind say that global warming is a serious threat today and that humans are destroying this planet as we speak at an alarming rate, a rate that we cannot keep up with if we do not stop it now. You see the funny thing is, there is no scientist/climatologist on this planet that can prove that humans are the cause of this warming that is occuring. Do we contribute to it? Of course we do, how much? To our current knowledge a very small fraction. The reason Global warming has reached hysteria in our world today is because we believe everything we see on tv and frankly we want to believe it. The facts say different my friends, Anderson Cooper isn't right because he looks good doing what he does. Humans contribute to the greenhouse gas carbondioxide which constitutes about 20 percent of ALL greenhouse gases and what we contribute to that 20 percent is a much smaller fraction in comparison to other variables. The largest greenhouse gas effect is water vapor (Clouds), you won't hear anything about water vapor because climatologists know almost NOTHING about it. How much does water vapor constitute for greenhouse gases? roughly 70-75 percent. For scientist and climatologist ALL over the globe to make these irrational conclusions to a problem that they know maybe 10 percent of is foolish. We have trouble forcasting the weather 5 days out and in some areas 1 day. How can we make predictions like this? Global Warming is the greatest hoax of the 21 century, Al Gore and his little cronies will keep lining their pockets with money as long as people are gullable. Climate change is occuring but it is normal, it is what the earth does. We have had warming and cooling periods ever since the beginning. Most of use weren't around but this same histeria was flying around in the 70's when the earth experienced unusually colder temperatures over all and it lasted through the early 80's. I encourage everyone here to do more research. My Fiance is a climatologist and she is utterly disgusted by people like Al Gore and the scientists that back him because the MAJORITY of scientitst globally disagree with most of the assumptions that are being made about global warming and human connection. The sadest part is that their voices are being cut off by the media so no one can discover the truth.

I should also post the link about how scientists first speculated that CO2 was raising the Earth's temperature in the mid-1800s.

global warming is like being drunk. you might get home safe and sound or run some poor kid over. we dont know what the future stores. however, i dont want to take my chances. we can do small things that can ensure our future. most people are just too lazy or think theyre too cool to do anything. global warming is bad no matter how big or small. thievery or murder theyre both wrong. same with global warming. i think people are just snobs about it and it takes a while and sacrafice to adapt. i think nature just hates us because we're big pompus aholes haha

Check this out: Global Warming Will Hurt Wine Production A new study predicts that by the end of the century, global warming will cause an 81% drop in the amount of US land capable of growing wine grapes. While wine grapes can't tolerate more than 14 days above 95 degrees per year, the study estimates that up to 60 days a year could be super-hot by the end of the century. Previous studies had been more optimistic about the wine grape crop, as they only calculated average temperature trends but didn't account for the effect of very hot days. http://www.seedmagazine.com/news/2006/07/week_in_science_77_713.php?page=2

sadly...it may be too late for us, we've screwed with the earth and
God's creation too much, and now we're paying for it.
global warming may be inreversible. but we may be able to slow it down.
some countries are working on way to stop it, hopefully they'll work.the sea level is already increasing, and the more we destroy the rain forest, the faster global warming happens.

Global Warming is scary adn very real. The temperatures are so much higher than the normal temperatures. I wish America would come together and take action on global warming.

Polar bears drown as ice shelf meltsThe other night on CNN I saw this report about how polar bears are now considered a threatened species and that, instead of having 2 or 3 cubs, they are now having 1 or none. And let me just say that if polar bears get extinct I will shoot someone. Polar bears are awesome... I have a friggin polar bear as my screensaver for crying out loud. I don't understand this attitude about not "wasting" the money it would take to slow down global warning. This is our planet and we only get this one shot with it. It's important to spend the money neccessary to protect it; there's nothing more important.

Plow. Awesome Donutting opportunities *that would be the hick in me coming out*. Mud is almost inevitable on any dirt road that has precipitation. And as for salt, deal. It's all dependent on where you live and drive. On the plus, Snow = snowmen/women, snow angels, sledding, skiing, snowboarding, *donuts again*, having a reason for cocoa, dogsledding, camping in the real outdoors, having bonfires (all the more reason), snow forts, snowball fights, and so much more that I can't think about during spring.
Trust me in 3 or 4 years when your car is rusting out and you've screwed your suspension from doing donuts, none of that will seem worth it :-p. I hate to say it but it's something you learn with age, haha. Man I've been on youthnoise for too too long. And coming from an Eagle scout who's camped probably more than anyone on the boards, camping in the snow gets old fast. I'm tired of unfreezing my boots in the morning. Bonfires are also better in the spring. You don't have the danger of wandering off into the woods drunk and freezing to death. Listen to me I'm like a crotchety old man.

That "gesture" might cause future generations more harm than good. It doesn't matter what Lao Tzu said if the journey isn't worth it in the first place.

Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.

North America had a mild winter this year. I wouldn't fret too much. We'll see though.
