Westcoast, Celtic is making the point that the people who have abortions would likely as not just abandon the baby if they couldn't abort it. So Celtic, would you come down hard on abotion if the parents could have had the child and then passed it on to another couple or to an orphenage. I cannot spell that word.
Only simple and quiet words will ripen of themselves. For a whirlwind does not last a whole morning, nor does a sudden shower last the entire day.

For those of us who try to look at the world with an optimistic view, how do you know the baby would die or become abandoned? What do you mean by abandoned? Why shouldn't the fetus (even if unwanted) have a chance at life?

It is cruel how they kill babies. in partial abortions they pull the baby halfway out and then stick somehting in the mother and break open the head to suck out the brains, then pull him out. Other abortions include breaking down the babies body and then using a vaccum to get the remains. its sick and cruel.

4thname, very true. The term abortion actually medically means the stopping of pregnancy it can be miscarriage abortion or spontaneous abortion.

No one else dines on human fetuses here? As for the egg comparison... the ones you eat aren't fertilized. It's kinda like eating a woman's period! Mmm yummy! However... if it is an abortion to kill something that was gonna become a human then you could argue that all eggs left unfertilized and the mere use of birth control is having an abortion. After all a large number of pregnancies are naturally aborted, far more than you might think.

this may be taken wrong but how csan you compare and chickens egg to abbortion, no one supports abortion when they eat an egg. the aborted eggs or whatever from chickens are eaten as a food source, but aborted humans arent eaten for food, so how is it the same?
Join the army... see the world, do lots of physical labor, and maybe if youre lucky die.

What do you mean "not all the eggs are fertilised"? Virtually none of the eggs we eat are fertilized. If eating eggs is abortion, so is me having a period. The egg doesn't get fertilized, so it dies. It isn't rocket science.
