How and why would anybody abuse a poor, innocent animal? I just don't see the point because so many animals are adorable and just plain sweet. Bless their hearts. WHY would someone abuse them?

Pathologists don't focus on the study of bacteria. They diagnose illnesses (that could indeed be caused by bacteria or many, many other things) and they determine cause of death in deceased individuals. But I digress... I understand that there is a difference between normal levels of bacteria in food and fecal matter in food, however being exposed to foreign bacteria over a period of time can help one build up their immune system to the point where they are completely immune to the bacteria. That's why native Alaskans can eat rotten meat and not be affected. And why some people in India eat "biscuits" made out of camel poop. If the human immune system can handle that, I'm not going to fret if my steak is covered in poo. Raw Vegetables are covered in poo as well, which is why the FDA tells us to wash them thoroughly, which I don't.

Food is sanitized once you cook it. Plus our immune systems are built up more by interactions with others and childhood illness. Note there is a difference between fecal matter in food and normal levels of bacteria in food. I thought you of all people would know this miss pathologist. ^.^

If everyone was so dead set on sanitized food, our immune systems would be compromised. Which may explain why I haven't been sick in years, nor have I needed a flu shot. I will admit that I have eaten food off the floor, meat that wasn't cooked all the way, and expired dairy products. I seriously should be dead. And I used to judge and hate hippies (only because I am one and was too afraid to admit it), but now I don't understand that logic one bit. Please explain, Kibukun, what is so terrible about being a hippie? (keep in mind that I am no longer vegetarian, and I am not a liberal) So why am I a terrible person for being a hippie? Also, I don't have a problem with conservatives but why do you guys continue to act like ignorant, childish jerks? Do you want to be marginalized? I do not think that you think it's fun to kill animals. you're just trying to be inflammatory, which is just juvenile. You're a terrible example of a conservative at their worst and that is extremely disappointing.

I never understood why people associate vegetarianism with hippies. Ground beef and pork are dirty. I prefer to not eat meat that's encrusted with fecal matter and rat fur, thank you very much.

Well with some people when they feel pain they want others to feel it so they're not alone. But I completely agree with you. The animal never did anything to you so why take your emotions out on it.

Well, thanks for replying so quickly. Hey I heard this new song that supports your answer perfectly:It's called People Are Crazy.

I ask that nearly everyday. I don't know why people hurt animals and children. I really don't know how some people get crazy enough to do some of the things they do. Some things that you just don't even imagine, people do on a regular basis. World's just crazy; depends on what you do with your insanity.
