Take some of your own advise, mervvyn. It would be "shrubbery" because it is a noun that is both plural and singular. "Shrubbery's" refers to "that which belongs to the shrubbery"

This really isn't a subject you can generalize on. Not cutting down trees would make life very difficult for us (understatement of the year). However, just cutting down all the trees in sight would lead to erosion, lack of oxygen, the list goes on. I think that some trees need to be harvested and then replaced but we definitely need to improve our paper recycleing.

Cutting down trees is bad because unless they are replanted it can cause erosion which can totally mess up a whole habitat. This makes it difficult if not impossible for most animal to live in what was their previous home before the trees were cut down. I'm a senior with a degree in wildlife ecology so I know what I'm talking about. Anybody wanna beg to differ can just reply here. Thanks
Goleafs, it is unfair to say that liberals don't want trees cut down because that is untrue. We just don't want to have the whole forest cut down. We need trees, that part is true. But I am a fan of choosing a few trees to chop down and use out of a stand and immediately planting new trees in their places. What people do, however, is go out to a forest and cut the whole deal down. Not only is that depriving countless lifeforms of life and home, but the land is now more susceptible to erosion. Do you now why the mudslides happened in California recently? Because the foothills and mountains that once had forests were denuded to provide land and materials to build homes at the foot of them. Without trees to keep the soil in place, it was washed away with rain. Our world is being screwed over because of modern humans. We should only take what we need and give it back to nature or else we'll soon run out and then where would we be?

Cutting down trees is not bad. Nature needs to be balanced, and with forests building up, it is not balanced. But cutting down too many is where we find our problem. We are not only killing countless animals by destroying their homes and forests, but we are exausting our natural resources faster than it seems. What George Bush does not understand is that to cut down trees, we need to leave some behind. bush is terrible, and an idiot with his tree policy, he is letting logging companys cut down old growth forest , he such a ******* 300 year old huge trees being cut down to prevent forest fires, well guess wut mr. bush the small trees cause the fires and cutting down big trees that will have to be filled in with smaller trees is just a dumb idea . its just another one of his lies. his paying the logging companys with the big trees for talking away all the brush and small trees, i hate bush and so should u,....do sumin about it
You're right goleaf. Trees really just endanger themselves by being left standing, all those forest fires...we should just take Bush's advice and cut them down so they don't catch fire and die.

Anyway, It's bad because, well... have you ever heard of PHOTOSYNTHESIS!? Yes, in this process, oxygen is produced by plants... that take in H2O, CO2, and the suns rays. If we cut down the trees... BOOM... there goes the oxygen level! Now, I belive it'd be good to replace one tree with one tree? That'd be nice; Instead of replacing 700 trees with one tree, that is. And I personally don't care if you don't agree with what I have to say. Although, I'll be glad if you agree with me. Hah.
