Well you are asking for a lot then. People aren't going to become vegetarian simply because you say so, or at least I wouldn't. Also, I'd think you, a vegan, would know that there's a big difference between having the animals stuck in tiny cages for their whole lives just feeding them and feeding them 'til their about to explode and then killing them, and having animals living on a farm and later yes, killing them. Even if the function of those animals is still the same(to be eaten) it is very different. The first option is cruel and disgusting, the second one isn't, and also you can tell the difference in the flavor(not that you'd care about that).

I liked the flavor of the family farm bred ones better actually.

I've watched the Meatrix several times. And I still haven't gotten just what it's trying to tell me...

Seriously, though. If I ever want to become a vegetarian (unlikely), I'll do it for my own reasons, not because some animated cow in a Morpheus costume told me to.

How can murder be humane? IT'S KILLING, FOR ELBERETH'S SAKE!

Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

Oh, but you do not know how persuasive I can become when I want to. FML has nothing over me except possibly ignorance.
And yes, the ONLY way is to go vegetarian, b/c whether it be painful or not, it's still murder. And there is no humane murder in my book.

Well, you know, even if I were given a vegetarian starter kit, I would still not go vegetarian. I wouldn't be worried FML, I think you have a better threat.

About this meatrix thing, the only option they give to stop this, is vegetarianism. You know, I found another solution. I find it disgusting the way that animals are raised for meat to tell you the truth, however, this summer I ate chicken that was from the family farm thing. I was on a pioneer reenactment, and we were very reverent about taking life and killed our own chickens, not inhumanely, we did it quietly, without thoughtlessly hacking at the thing. We just slit it's throat and patiently waited for it to bleed to death, when we spoke during the process we spoke in hushed tones, we carried the chickens very carefully while it was still alive, and very reverently once it was dead. They were hand-fed, raised in a family barn chickens, and they were DELICIOUS.

And for every steak you buy i will give out 3 vegetarian starter kits to 3 different people who in turn will give out vegetarian starter kits to other people.

For every post made on YN tonight in favor of vegetarianism/veganism I will buy one steak when I go to the grocery store tomorrow. You want to support the meat industry? Keep posting. Wink

I have to admit, it's creative. But the animation and voice-overs are terrible, greatly detracting from the quality of the picture.
