I had had many heroes (they have always been family or friends) but my ultimate hero, and always will be, is Jesus. He was a perfect example of what perfect is. People say there is no such thing as perfect, but Jesus was. He never sinned against his father, the Lord, and was also an excellent teacher. He preached God's word to millions of people eager to hear of the almighty Lord's miracles. Jesus let the blind man see and the deaf man hear. And, last but certainly not least, he died a horrible, brutal death on Calvary just so I can sin, but be forgiven. He was killed with 2 robbers, being judged just as harshly as those 2 men, as he was hung on the cross. He died so I can be saved. And then, three days after his death, he was risen from the dead, and joined his father as the right hand of his throne in Heaven. I hope everyone has a wonderful Good Friday and Easter. Please remember why we celebrate this holiday- not so the "Easter Bunny" can bring you candy and you get out of school on Friday. Jesus Christ, the Lord's son, died so you can live eternally. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

I am not sure what the 'deffinition' of a hero is, but i consider a hero as someone i look up to, that i wan't to be like. Someone that is worth trying to grow up to - to compare yourself in the future too. My Hero Is My Mom....

I also admire Hitler. However much a killer he was, the man was a genius. I admire a lot of people. From celebrities to important people in history to just nomal people I met. But I think we should be our own heroes as well.

Harry Houdini, for showing us that you can get out of anything and work through anything if you are determined and set your mind to it. And maybe Audrey Hepburn just for being a "classic" female celebrity that never had to bear skin, have perfect teeth, or pose in the nude to be remembered.

I think it's great to admire people or to respectfully look up to someone, but I don't have any certain hero. We all have the potential to be heros and many of us are but don't realize it. I just find it a bit bad to set our standards to someone else's doings. We should do things at our own pace and at our level, for our own reasons. As the saying goes " I don't want to be the next anybody, I want to be the first me". I live by that.

quote: 2. Joseph Stalin- He was a man that was loved AND feared, not many people in history can accomplish that. He held a massive nation together for years and, even though millions died during WW2, brought the country back to the status of 'world power'. He is a man to definately be admired, if you don't agree then you have no taste nor feel for true genius.
Josef Stalin killed more people than Hitler, using methods of forced starvation and other things..He commited auto-genocide on his own people...not cool See the picture I saw in Social Studies last week of a mass grave of young children killed by him, maybe that's something to think about.

I have no hero right now because no one(well known) has done anything to earn the title 'hero'. Although there are a several key figures that I admire greatly, despite what peolpe might think. 1. Adolf Hitler-first off, the man was a genius. He was an artist, a writer, a poet, a architect, a leader, and a militant. Secondly, he formed an almost unstoppable nation that took several years to defeat. Although people say that he was an evil man, he was merely sick in the head (I am told that I am as well) and if he had only been more accepting of Jewish beliefs, he could have had the world... 2. "We as a people walk together, stand together, and fight together. For that we are brothers and sisters..." Sheridon15 (What do you think someone famous actually said that?)

To me, my hero is someone who I'd give my life up for or have great respect to. Therefore, my hero is my best friend Eugomac (Macky). If it weren't for him, I'd probably be dead by my own will. When my mother asked that I be sent to America from Ireland, he came with me and basically raised me. My parents were never around, so you see, I raised myself, and he helped. He knows me better than anyone probably. I don't know how I would cope without him. My other heroes are Edgar Allan Poe, DaVinci, and Voltaire- Without them, there is no poetry, science nor astronomy.

My hero/role model? I have three. Vincent Van Gough. I don't care if he was crazy, cut off his ear, and committed suicide. He's my role model in an artistic sense. (I'm not going to go crazy, cut of my ear, and commit suicide). He saw the world in an entirely different way from anyone up until that time. His work started an evolution in impressionistic painting and among artists and I respect him for that. No one ever bought a painting from him while he was alive but now his work is among the most valued in the world. Second is Picasso, sheerly just because he broke boundaries and sacraficed himself for his art. Third is Jackson Pollock his work might seem sloppy or "just thrown together" but he spent years perfecting color and placement (balance). He didn't just throw paint on the canvas, like people assume he studied his work and carefully placed each dot where he saw it belonged. When you step back every line and blob, every bit of paint makes on large abstract picture. High society at the time thought his artwork was garbage but it was actually revolutionary. They're all artists, I know. Then again I'm an artist so it makes sense that my heros/role models would be artists.

A role model to me is somebody who I want to be like, while a hero is somebody I admire greatly. My heroes are Walt Whitman as he is a wonderful poet and J. Tolkien for his amazing grasp of language and literature. I may hold these men in extremely high regard, but I do not want to live my life to be like them.
I like these calm little moments before the storm.

I'm always surprised when people call others their heroes. To me, a hero is an element of a story, not someone found in real life. Or at the very least, a hero is someone who saves another person. So to hear that teens view celebrities or an atheletes as their heroes baffles me. It seems that the word hero is used to mean a role model or maybe even a mentor. But I just don't see it. So, I have no hero. I have many role models and a mentor, but a hero? Nope, only in comic books.
