No it's common practice all over the friggin world. When ANYONE ANYWHERE reffers to "Americans", they are, 99.9% of the time, talking about the United States of America. Or do you think the islamic fanatics are talking about Belize when they're chanting "Death to America." ?
So you calling it "egocentric" is a crock. Get over your nitpicking political correctness.
Bushsupporter said: "This of course is not an educated argument, but a childish and very poorly though out plan to derail the President, who was elected by a majority of America." Why do you think I've never said anything when people talk about themselves as "Americans"? I realize that's just the normal way of talking of most US Americans(even though I still think it's unconscious) but I just had to respond to that statement. The majority of AMERICA? what?... So common' give me a brake and read before you respond next time.

quote: And PLEASE could you stop refering to the US as AMERICA? It is very egocentric. You see, there are two American continents(North America and South America) and therefore many Americans who are not US Americans, so it's very unconscious to refer to the USA as America.

You refered to your Mexican roomate but I know LOTS of people who do not see it that way(from Central and South America). What was false in my claim? Are there not Americans who are not from the US(even if they don't refer to themselves as Americans)? I wasn't trying to start an argument with this issue but was just trying to point out that it's very unconscious and egocentric.

How this is going to hurt him has yet to be explained to me. "No left or right wing agenda"??? I don't think so. This is a transparent far left agenda. America doesn't respect these protests and boycotts and that is why the left will continue to lose. Get over it, you lost. Spend more money and time on trying to get elected rather than support boycotts tat will not acheive your goal, but just hurt innocents. "Liberals don't buy, children die. Rah, rah, rah."

Yeah, that's why I said "kid of sounds communist." It does seem a little communist in my opinion. Sorry for the confusion everyone.

It's a nice idea, but it's rather irrelevant to the war.

This is why I feel like going to buy something fairly expensive on the 20th. I'll counter-act most everyone on youthnoise that decides to do this, completely voiding their protest.

How does buying common products contribute in any signifigant way to the war effort? More importantly, you say that no more of your money is going into the war. Does this mean you're not going to buy any products after the date also? Again, this is one of the least creative, least effective, and most moronic protests to date. quote: ?????

Yes, lets hurt small buisnesses and the employees of every company in America, even those who didn't vote for Bush or supported the war. That's a great way to "protest".
