Did you know that there are no safeguards in place for children in the aftermath of disasters? After Hurricane Katrina, that meant far too many children were left homeless or separated from their families. Hurricane season is bearing down again, and Congress has the opportunity to help children and their families find safe, decent housing after disasters. But they won’t make it their priority unless you tell them it’s yours. Voice your support for a law to protect children in the wake of disasters. http://www.theactionblog.com/2007/07/31/put-safeguards-in-place-for-children/

After Katrina, I went and volunteered at a makeshift shelter at a local public park. My job was to play with the kids because many of them were seperated from there parents or their parents were busy trying to contact relatives or do other things, or were just simply worn out. You ought to start a YN cause for this.
