the right to bear arms should be abolished completely in every single country.

thanks for your thoughts.
for those who disagree with me,i'm not gonna argue with you.we probably raise in a different country.if you said that people owned guns to protect themselves they can do it the opposite way too.limits,i'm not so sure where we sure draw a line.if only selected people had the right to bear arms, are we sure that they not gonna sell to anyone else.
for example the recent high school shooting case in wisconsin.where did the boy get the gun from?his father.will children be safe in scholl in the future?
how about the sniper dude case that killed like lunatics.will people fell safe when walking down a neighborhood?
one person told me before that if you want to gain something ,you must to lose somethig.we sure apply it on this case.we sure sacrifice ours rights to bear arms to have a safer environment Wink

You're right bisingdude, people every where should surrended all the power they have to the state. Good plan, that way when a tyrant comes they will be forced to realy on a piece of paper.

The second ammendment is clear - other countires should take note. Overall crime rates do not fall when gun control is absolute.

Well, obviously. But how many average Joes do you think know how or are able to get weapons illegally? I'm not talking experienced criminals who have access to the black market. I'm talking about untrustworthy petty criminals or psychos who can't be trusted with a gun and don't have the knowledge to get one illegally.

It's a nice thought... but logically unsound, criminals often obtain their firearms illegally so restrictions would have no effect on them.

I think it's best to put limits (not strict ones, mind you) on the second amendment to make sure people who shouldn't have guns don't easily get them.

I fully understand the reason for needing the right to bear arms, but sometimes (such as those times when I see how many gun-related murders happen each year) I think that right should be restricted in a small way, to make sure people who own guns will use them lawfully. For instance, if somone has a history of threatening their neighbors with armed violence, they shouldn't be allowed to get a gun as easily as someone who has no criminal record.

I'm not sure what the current limits are, but it's obvious they're too lax. I don't think the founding fathers had to worry about a thousand gun-related murders each year when they were writing the bill of rights.

Why in the world would you take away the right for people to bear arms? You may as well take away their right to protect themselves from armed criminals and oppressive governments... Criminals will always have guns, whether it's legal or not, so why make it illegal for the normal, lawful person to protect themselves from armed criminals by making it illegal for them to have a firearm? Sounds really, really stupid if you ask me.

Plus, the "saftey issue" with kids and stuff is easily solved, teach a kid about firearms, train them in safety, arm them with knowledge. Then, it's far less likely they'll do anything dumb like play with a gun.

BTW, I have been shooting since I was 5... My parents brought me up around guns... It's a great hobby, shooting, stress relieving and not expensive at all... I am an excellent shot because of how well my parents trained me, and very safe in the use of firearms...

As for the hobby part, I enjoy trick shooting sometimes, doing stuff like throwing a few clays up in the air and shooting them before they hit the ground or throwing a jawbreaker or something of that size up in the air and shooting it. One of the things I've been working on with my rifle, an M1 Garand that my father gave me for my 13th birthday, is throwing clays 5 clays and shooting them... I've only done it once so far... I usually only hit 3... It's a lot easier with a shotgun, I can hit them no problem with a shotgun.

Yeah, try to get 2/3 of the states to pass an amendment abolishing the second amendment. Good luck moron.

We are allowed the right to keep and bear arms because the founders realized that there may come a time when people need to protect themselves, thier families, thier property, or stand up against an oppressive government to demand their God given rights. That is what the founders did... stood up against the oppressive british government and demanded their rights, one of them is the right to arms.

The only way to get rid of the second amendment is if a radical, unchecked judiciary takes the right from us. This is one of the most disturbing things about America today.

if guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns, besides it's part of our fundamental right to rise up and throw the goverment the hell out by force if we wish
