So now killing and drinking are the same? Think about that for a minute.

Well, then it wasn't a very good analogy, was it? We are also taught not to kill, but it is against the law. Would you abolish that law too? People who want to murder will do it anyway and people who don't want to won't. Why is it against the law?

I live in a very wealthy community. All the kids here are boozers and stoners, they have the money so they can get whatever they want.

shit I work and I don't have $300 bucks and I've never heard of a kid who had that type of cash and BS even if it's legal parents can still tell their kids "no" till they turn 18

My brother, who is 12, saves his allowance and chore money. He has over $300. No he doean't invest it, but 300 bucks can buy a lot of booze and smokes.

hmph I remeber when I was 8, when I had pocket money it was more likely to be spent on say a cookie or a new toy than anything else and when I did have it I certaintly couldn't afford a pack of cigs or a bottle of cheap beer much less hard liquers and they do invest LTR, in sugery substances and electronic crack...I mean video games

Yes, drinking and smoking is the same as being rude. Good point. It doesn't matter how many kids will take advantage of it. Some will and that can't be denied. Besides the addictive factor in both of these substances. I don't want 8 yaer old drunks stumbling around in the street. I had enough money when I was 7 years old and up. I got an allowance as did all of my friends and I got paid to do certain things around the house. Kids have money and you want them to spend it on booze and smokes.

Who says they will? Please, stop assuming everyone wants to smoke or drink. In the case of small children, if they're taught that drinking and smoking isn't good, then they won't do it. Look at it this way: you're told not to be rude, but it's not illegal.

So 10,9,8, even 5 year olds should be allowed to purchase alcohol and tobacco?

I don't much care either, but I'll go with yes. Besides, if you get rid of the law, you get rid of the thrill of breaking it.

Since it is clear that you don't care about this argument and are not willing to answer a question that a monkey could answer; I will not argue with you and I will wait for some who does care and can answer the question to post.

No it isn't. This is: Are you with us, or with the forces of racism and oppression? I am asking whether LTR would be OK or not OK with a law abolishing the drinking and smoking age. That is not setting up a false dilema, it is asking a yes or no question, which is not illogical. It is really simple. If your argument is "I don't care" then leave the board and let those of us that do care argue the issue. But coming on here, saying that kids will do it no matter what, and then refusing to answer a simple question (by claiming that you don't care) is just crazy.
