Question:
Hey everyone! I'm very concerned about the hunger problem in the world, did you know that a child dies every 5 seconds because of hunger and hunger related deseases? There are 800 million hungry people and about half of that number are innocent children!!!
Anyway, we all think we can't do anything about it and that no one listens, but in fact we can! Have you heard of Walk the World? It's a division of the UN World Food Programme which organises walks each year to raise funds, but specially awareness about the hunger issue. This year 200,000 people walked on june 12th in 70 different countries. Next walk is in may 2006, and we should all get involved. Go to their web site http://www.FightHunger.org where you can find out how to participate in this fight against hunger. I think if we all take small steps like these we can make a huge contribution!
Oh and the great thing too is that when you go to their site one of their sponsors makes a 19 cents donation - what it costs to feed a child per day!
